Desire HD - Version 2.2.1 Build 1.84

I got updated to 1.84.110.3 via T-Mobile in the UK yesterday morning.

I've noticed that the battery life is longer, the screen changed (more saturated, probably some sort of setting to save on battery) and the text messages/e-mails when it displays how many you have (1) is a different colour + font.

I haven't noticed anything else thus far.

Updated my DHD yesterday. Sound is much louder, phone seems faster, screen sharper, camera now has self portrait function which works well with face detection. Facebook now has chat and places. I can't comment on battery life yet, but I'm hopeful there will be some improvement with that too.

I had to reinstall locations after the update.

I'm on T-Mobile in the UK and got the update a couple of days ago, it went smoothly in the main, BUT!

My HTC Sense weather widget has been killed, it won't update over a phone network (wifi) works fine.

HTC support have been very responsive, but they basically have no idea why it is malfunctioning. I've done a factory reset under their guidance, but it hasn't solved the problem :( HTC have offered to repair it, but I'm reticent to send the phone to them on account of what I believe is a gammy update.

Any ideas boys and girls?

so does anyone know when the unbranded handsets will get the update?

Before when i had the Hero the problem was that the unbranded phones got all the latest stuff and i didn't because i was on orange. Now i have an unbranded phone and it looks like im missing out again lol

Unbranded got an update around Xmas. It was terrible and pulled a short time after it was released. The next update will most likely be 2.3 in May/June.

The only comments on the HTC site about the upgrade is "... Update: Improve system performance and Camera feature enhancements...." I'm after a fix to the 'sd card trashing' issue. I've got a 32GB card I want to use but have already upgraded to the, pulled, 2.2.1 so don't want to risk killing it. I've got the original 8GB card in at the moment and, to be honest, I haven't seen a problem as yet but it'd be nice to know if this 1.84 firmware fixes it.
