Root [ROM][ACS] Koni's ELITE Series III - (ES3 - 03/24/11) - The evolution of ELITE!!!

im not sure i understand how to install the options... whats an adb?

Do I put the zip files on the sd card and install them from clockwork recovery? Do I unzip them and instal them in some way with an app?
I believe it stands for (ANDROID DEBUG BRIDGE). Makes it possible for the computer to communicate with the phone (I think). As far as the add ons you should be able just put them on the root of sd card, and then wipe cache, wipe dalvik, and then flash them from the recovery boot page.

Ok, I found out how to change the boot animation(finally!!) And its far easier than I was even hoping it would be, so if any other noobs (like me) are curious, here ya go... Ok, firstly you need to find(or for those who are adept enough, create) a zip file in the proper format. The one ES2 uses is in the following format, a text file(that i assume tells the system what its about to see in the rest of the zip) and then a folder called part0 and one called part1. Part 0 contains x amount of .png images used to simulate an animation (much like how a gif does) and part1 has 1 screen that it stays on till the boot finishes.... so, once you find (or create) the proper zip file and place it on the root of your sd card(that makes it easier to find, as you need to move it right away anyways). You then get an app called root explorer, gp tp the root of your sd card, enable r/w capabilities in the app, select the zip file you just put on your sd card, move it to system/customize/resource, change the current bootanimation.zip files name to something else, and then change the name of the zip file you want to use to bootanimation.zip and reboot :) if root explorer says you cant move or paste or whatever, then you have the phone still mounted as a hard drive. It has to be just charging to be able to use root explorer as i described after the new boot animation has been placed on your sd card. Sorry so wordy, and perhaps this could have been better described, but thats the jist of it. Lemme know if you have any problems, and ill try to help in any way i can :)

Quick question. How can i turn off the text notifications that appear in the lock screen? I have an elite rom.

what notifications are you trying to disable? text? email? if so, i think the notifications setup is in that particular app, and as far as i can tell, when ya flash to a different rom, it resets all your previous settings.... i think LoL

Ok so I am getting absolutely horrible battery life with this rom and kernel. I am using netarchy toastmod 4.2.1 havs-less-smartass. Can anyone recommend me a battery saving kernel please?
Try taking it off of the smartass setting and switching it to ondemand. Im using havs-more with the ondemand setting getting excellent battery life.

where are the settings for the kernel?

The settings he's talking about is in setCPU. I think what you meant to say is your running a kernel with a smartass governor built in, correct? I think at 1 point I ran across a kernel that had a smartass governor. If so, try running this instead http://qap.la/~netarchy/netarchy-toastmod-4.3.2-cfs-nosbc-havs-more-universal-signed.zip
If your phone can't handle the aggressive undervolting try the same kernel but with less HAVS http://qap.la/~netarchy/netarchy-toastmod-4.3.2-cfs-nosbc-havs-less-universal-signed.zip

You can run either those, then run setCPU on top of it if you desire. That should clear up your battery issue.

When you say crap battery life, how long are you getting between charges?

In SetCPU, I set my governor to conservative and then have a "screen off" profile set with conservative governor with 128 as my min and 245 as my max.

There is a lot of talk on various forums about downgrading the PRI on your phone if you are seeing battery life issues. I am running 1.90 but not seeing any battery issues. Some are though.
