I have fast boot enabled on the device but am unable to get the device to boot up in the 10 seconds or so that other videos have shown. I shut the device down by holding in the power button and then after it had powered off I used the power button to turn it back on. Here is the video, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kDOgM0g1vo. I have tried this multiple times and even with another Thunderbolt and it never boots up in under a minute. Any thoughts?

I have Facebook, GO SMS, K-9 Mail, Locale, Yahoo Messenger, Swype, and Tango.

I'm going to guess it's one of those apps that's forcing boot time startup and slowing everything down for you.

I have Facebook and Swype installed, so you can leave those on. I would uninstall the other apps and see what happens. Then reinstall one at a time and reboot after each install. That way you can figure out which is the naughty app. Then write the dev and tell them to get their stuff straightened out :D

Based on the description given under the Fast Boot option where it says "Turn off to use some Market apps", I'd say it's an app conflict.

I just tried the Fast Boot for the first time and it worked fine...about 8-9 seconds before the lockscreen comes up.

And the only app that we have in common (that you listed) is Facebook.

Take it to a VZW store and see if they can help you out. If they can't figure it out, I'd exchange it just to be on the safe side.

Yeah, the store reps should have all received training on the device. While that doesn't make them experts...I'm sure they are aware of the fast boot feature. So they can try it out on other phones to verify yours is not working properly.

I just rebooted my phone (there is no fast reboot option lol) just to see if that would affect anything. Immediately powered off the device, and then turned it back on...came up in 9 seconds.

I tried to search to see if anyone else had this problem...but only came up with various posts from the OP on like 3-4 different sites :)
