Root [ROM] ApeX V1.4.1 for Droid X & Droid 2 - Refinement and Ease of Use (2/22/2011)

Has anyone been having problem lately? Everything was fine until this weekend where a lot of the apps are force closing, Gmail unable to retrieve emails even tho it says 4 in the inbox. One day I was hearing nothing out on a call and had to reboot it to work.

I just put back Apex 1.3.1 and it's working flawlessly...

Anyone else having issues? Is it 1.4.1?

The only issue I am having, tried to update the tool box, in the Terminal Emulator. And now I have no tool box.

If you are having any problems I suggest you go into Clockwork and fix permisiions. Also if you have Titaniam backup, open it and click on "Problems" and it will update busybox.

The word is that Fabs server is down for upgrades, and should be back up soon.

Im having a problem with my gallery too. When I took a picture, and pressed the small pic icon, I couldn't see the picture that I just took. I have to scroll to the very right hand side in order to see them. I tried to switch to blur mod, and still no go. I had same problem before, and I fixed it with switch to the blur mod. I couldn't get it to work this time didn't know. Anybody has same issue? : (

How do you fix things from clockwork?

I'm finding that Android OS, and more specifically the Suspend process, is burning up more of my battery since I switched from stock to 1.4.1. I've had some issues with Suspend before, but never like this. I routinely see it using over 30% of the CPU. As a result the battery life has gone done a little bit. I'm surprised it doesn't eat up more of it, so maybe that's a testament to other areas where Apex shines with the battery.

Last I checked on his Twitter feed, he deactivated his Droid X and moved on to the Nexus S (IIRC), so may be the last version of ApeX we ever see.

Sounds like some of you guys are over-reacting. Dont mess with the Terminal Emulator until Fab gets his site back up. He said it should be up Monday.

If you have tried to "updatetb" in the Terminal. And its really bugging you, just reinstall the original version of Apex 1.4.1 from page 1 of this thread.

For what its worth I personally have not reinstalled the original 1.4.1, I am still running my rom with the failed to update toolbox with no problems. More info here http://androidforums.com/droid-x-all-things-root/296641-prolem-apex-tool-box.html

Hello everybody!

I rooted my Droid 2 for the first time 2 days ago and have been trying out different ROMs. I just installed APEX and I like it very much however I noticed that it has a lot of useless stock apps that I cant uninstall using the toolbox or otherwise.

SOOO my question is, is it indended to come with these apps or am I doing something wrong that I'm ending up with them.

The apps in question:
Backup Assistant
DLNA
Files
FM Radio
Madden NFL 11
My Accounts
Social Networking (App, not widget)
Wireless Tether (I know one of the top reason to root your phone, but I should have the liberty to choose right?)

Thanks in an adance, sorry for being a newb :D

Hey guys, sorry about the toolbox being down!

My domain transfer just went through, but I'm out of town for work, so I expect I can get everything up and running by tomorrow night.

I still have my X, but I've deactivated VZW service and am using the Nexus S full time now. I'm not sure how many more updates to Apex there will be, but I will continue to host the toolbox and support the current users.

That is very sad :-( but I along with everyone else have enjoyed all your hard work while your Dx was up and running. Thanks fab

Done and done. Still has animations.

Well have you tried the animation option under Setting/Display/Animation and change to No Animation.... UPDATE: I just tested it and this should disable the animations.

im sure i can speak for the majority of and not catch any flack, we thank you x199 for all the time and effort you have put into this project. I have been using your work from the beginning (although you went too fast for me to keep up at one time!). Hope you enjoy your new phone and all the best to you.

This is me too. Since 1.4.1 my phone is running hot, I have to charge it three times a day just to keep it going. I've changed nothing and upgraded from 1.4.0 to this ROM. All previous ApeX ROMS were "Fabulous!" and I was very pleased. I'm concerned now that something is bad wrong and looks like I need to roll back or run back to stock.

I'm also having the "can't answer phone calls" (slide frozen). Plus once I use the set to vibrate mode, the incoming calls don't ring any longer.

Thanks

The Universal Inbox is force closing (well, just closes no FC menu popup) when I click on an email to read it. I only have 1 exchange account linked up. The messages show fine in the inbox, and even show the read/unread status correctly. It also syncs correctly. I just can't open emails.

Also, the connected music player does not install form the toolbox.

Just reflash guys... apparently something is wrong with you current flash. Lots of people have problems. Just reflash in clockwork. Don't wipe data. Wipe cache from the "mounts" menu. After you wipe flash you boot up will take a while. Just let it run.

You might have a rogue app somewhere too. I can go 20+ hrs with Apex and thats actually using my phone. And that seems to be the case with most people. So when your phone doesn't act like everyone else's that means something is wrong with the install (could be something you did in toolbox while its down) or could be a rogue app.

Apex never did work well on my phone then the tool box crapped out.

This thing has been broken for over a week now.

How long does it take to switch a domain over? No where near this long. Now he he said last night and here we are again.

The broken tool box and scripts that have plagued a bunch of folks could easily be made available as a download from just about anywhere...

There is more to this than meets the eye.
