thunderbolt vs. Incredible

Phone is faster even with the bloatware than the stock Incredible. Now I did kill off the bloatware on the Incredible and it is pretty fast, but the Thunderbolt hands down is a better overall experiance.

I am still getting used to the added size, where I have to stretch thumb further to do things on the Thunderbolt while in the palm of my hand, probably just because I am used to the smaller size of the Incredible. Also bigger in the pocket for sure.. you know it is in there, where with the Incredible.. you could easily forget it is even in your pocket.

It will take some getting used to still, but it is a great device and you will like it. I would say go to a retail store or Best Buy and check out a "real" demo unit for yourself.

It pocketable, but not as easy as the Inc. You can defiantly tell when you have it in your pocket, especially if you wear tight or skinny jeans. The Bolt is by far a superior device, though. The screen is great, the weight is perfect, IMO, and 4G is insanely fast, even my WiFi seems faster on the Bolt (could be placebo effect?) The only advantage I would give the Inc is the fact that it's rooted with a great community supporting it. I'm not worried about that, though. Once root becomes a little easier I'm sure this community will be just as good. If you love your Inc and want a bigger screen and are in a 4G area, I would say to go get one. You won't be disappointed.

I already did, here is my earlier post:

Ok...Did a test comparison with the Incredible. All syncs and apps running are exactly the same. Both phones on the home screen, with the screen always on toggle. Went to bed.

Woke up 6 hours later phones still both on. but both showing real low. Incredible dead first at 6:33, Thunderbolt followed at 6:45 (hours).

Now that being said, I think everyone should take into consideration that the thunderbolt is running a bigger screen as well as a faster processor, and that it still beats the incredible that is running on a smaller screen with a slower processor. An improvement. They were able to keep the same battery life on a more powerful device.

Battery is the one technology (besides hard drives) that is still a technical bottleneck. New tech keeps coming out, but unless they find a way to approve on battery life, be prepare to keep being limited by it.

Remember this was done with the screen at max and left on the whole time.

Can anyone in a non 4g area compare their battery life to their incredible? I am wondering if it is going to be a huge difference?

I hope I am not thread-jacking, but this seems to fit here..

I just got an Incredible in early November so the initial battery life remains fresh in my mind. I think it is not better or worse and after a few more charges and some bump charging, the TB will be fine/similar. I am unrooted and have no 4G access. (My DINC was never rooted either.)

I would check craigslist in your area and see what they are going for... In my area, it looks like I will be lucky to get $200, maybe $225..

Being a previous owner of both the Incredible and the Droid X. The screen to me is the best part of the thunderbolt. Nice big 4.3 screen like the Droid X but the vibrance of the Incredible slcd screen. Build quality is also superior has some nice weight to it. I sold my Incredible for 200 Shipped. Prices dropped on them obviously since there was so many more of them on the used market. The Droid X sells for probably 50 or so more than the incredible on the used market.

I sold my incredible yesterday for $275 with some basic accessories
I find call quality better then the incredible
Stock to stock battery life is similar . Slight nod going to incredible
Stock to stock thethunderbolt is much faster and 1000x better
My incredible running cm7 was smother then my thunderbolt 2.3.3 blows away 2.2.1
I prefer the size and weight of the thunderbolt I always thought the incredible was always too small

I was wondering about that myself.

As far as the difference between the two, here's what I have noticed so far:

1. It seems a bit more cheaply built than the incredible. It's more thin plastic, less metal, less glass. The slim plastic piece between the bottom of the screen and the frame can lose it's seal with the screen and cause light leakage from the 4 android buttons. I have seen a couple models that leaked light from there right out of the box. Evo is also known to have a leakage problem.

2. Potential storage space actually SMALLER than the Incredible. The Inc has about 6.6 GB usable space on the phone, and can take a 32 GB card. Only usable space on the TB is the 32 GB card.

3. Faster than the Inc. I think the processor can just process faster then the Inc. The extra RAM and the extra dedicated phone storage probably help there also.

4. Heavy. It's not so much the size, but the weight that I notice in my pocket.

5. Screen. You can't coach size, and it gives me a whole new perspective on everything I was doing on the incredeible. For the better. That being said, the screen is much more pink than the Incredible's(at least those Incredibles that didn't have pink screens). I compared three models at my Verizon store and they were all the same. Also, can't compete with my Incredible's amoled screen for color and picture quality and depth.

6. Many apps not supporting this phone yet, including My Verizon, which makes me chuckle. Mobile recovery and NFL Mobile not being supported isn't as funny. Sure this will be remedied at some point.

7. Battery. Seems about the same to me so far, but charges a bit slower than the Inc, which is a little annoying.

Final first impression: Doesn't do everything better, but I can't go back to the Inc after experiencing the screen difference. By the way, probably no 4G in my area till around 2013, so I bought this as a 3G phone.
