Who Switched to VZW for the TB

I actaully switched to the Tbolt for Verizon. I had the Atrix before this on ATT and absolutely loved the phone. But ATT being the scumbags that they are, really have no such thing as 4G and on top of that, they make their 4G experience subpar by capping upload speeds on the Atrix. Overall a shitty experience. I took the phone back the week the Tbolt came out and never looked back. I love the phone just as much but the service is without any equal. F Att and Go VZW!

Count me in. I was with AT&T for 10 years. Had the last 3 generations of iphone and loved them in the beginning. AT&T does not have 3G in my area at all and no plans to have it. Verizon has 3G now and plans for 4G by the end of the year. Thought about Verizon iPhone, but was digging my kids Droid Incredible so I decided to switch phone when I switched networks. Love the phone.

I was with AT&T since before they were Cingular and left for the TB and unlimited 4G data. AT&T capping Android upload speeds and not capping the iPhone was the last straw and I was not signing a contract with them again. On top of that they hide apps in the market like PDANet where with Verizon I can find it fine(not that I even use it, but it's nice not having apps hidden from you). They also block side-downloading so I said screw it, I'm gone. :) I'd been using the Nexus One off contract for a year and it came time to upgrade and the TB and Verizon seemed like the best move.

I switched from Sprint. I had horrible reception with them and was stuck using a sllloooooowwwww HTC Hero. Much happier now after being thunderstruck:)

Yep! Me too! I had rooted my Hero and installed Gingerbread and it was much better, but still, you can't compare the Sprint 3G to Verzon's 4G! I've actually just closed my Internet provider and will use my Tbolt for watching Hulu through my laptop! Chaching$$$!!

I switched over from AT&T as well. The call quality was pathetic and the promise of 4G and a better experience on Verizon prompted me to switch.

By the way, I retained my AT&T number with Verizon. Am I supposed to call AT&T and tell them that I need to close my account or is it something that is done automatically?

No, your service with at&t was terminated as soon as you ported your number to Verizon. If you log into at&t's site to manager your account, you should see that you can't access anything except make a payment. Chances are that they don't have your closing bill ready yet, though.

moved wifes iphone to verizon and had att atrix but hated it and had the Inspire. Service sucked in house and they wouldn't give me the microcell. Don't they know I could sell the iphone and Inspire for money and wipe my termination fee and make some money-IDIOTS! Micro cell which they want you to pay for (even though people were getting it for free) which uses your internet service which you pay for. HMMM....you service sucks u pay for the microcell plus you use my internet which i pay for to boost your crappy service WOW. GET IT TOGETHER AT&T!!!!

I started out with a BellSouth Mobility bag phone, was there through Cingular and was a loyal ATT customer until last Thursday. And I couldn't be happier. ;)

Compared to ATTs network, VZ just blows them out of the water. I haven't dropped a call, overall data speed is faster and latency is miles ahead.

Out where my mom lives and I grew up, I now get max bars and 2Mb/1Mb Dwn/Up. That was a completely dead area for VZ just five years ago.

Not to mention that I've heard we'll be getting LTE here in Baton Rouge in the May/June timeframe. I can wait! :D

4 years and 4 models of iPhone and recently moved to an LTE city and downtown ATT service was non-existant, one day I had to pair to a friend's EVO to get internet at a restaurant as ATT was not working, decided that was enough and bought the Thunderbolt day one.

No dropped calls, would almost always drop at least one call a day, rock solid LTE all around the city and most importantly my phone actually works downtown.

I don't really have a problem with either Networks, both have pros cons. I don't get Verizon at work(big problem) and will require verizon router. Get better verizon signal at home.

Verizon couldn't do talk/data at the same time, but now with the TB they can.

Been iphone user for awhile, but wanted android phone. Got Atrix when it came out and found out what a crap phone it was with some major design flaws and motofubar. As soon as I found out TB could to talk and data, I was in the verizon store 30 mintues later getting my TB. Great phone. Unfortuantly until 4G is availalbe, I will have to deal with the slower 3G speeds. ATT kicks verizons butt in speed.
