I was told that there were updates for my phone this morning. I downloaded the updates and then it said no updates were available. Ever since then I have been receiving random rain forrest type music on my phone about every hour. How do I get rid of this? Thank you for your help

Since the update my Epic periodically plays a quiet 10 second music sample followed by a woman's voice saying "hello?" as though answering a call. I thought I was nuts the first several times. It's like an uninspired ringtone or alarm but I can't find what's it's associated with. I've done a sustained power-down but not a hard reboot, which I'd rather avoid if there's a simpler fix. There is no phone activity associated with this - I assumed at first I'd unintentionally called my wife (not for the first time), but there's no change to the phone log when it happens. I've checked every clock, timer, ringer, notification, and music file. Otherwise the update's been golden for me. EC05.

that rainforest music goes off when I receive a call, when I place a call, when I receive a text and sometimes for no reason.

I can't even find the rainforest notification tone in my notification sounds to turn it off. I changed my ringtone, my text tone, you name it, the rainforest still plays.

short of doing a hard reset (which I'm not sure would even work) does anyone have any other suggestions?

also, I do have a fast reboot app which I use to stop the rainforest from playing, but the next text that comes in starts it up again.

My Samsung Epic 4G started doing the same thing following the Sprint update I received this afternoon.

I went through and checked my ringtones, all set fine.. I then went into the Gmail ap (which I needed to update from the market) and reset the notification noise for new messages and events. This seems to have solved the problem for me? At least for the moment..

Haven't heard the "rainforest song" in about an hour.. and it was going off every 5 - 10 minutes before.

My Epic 4G has a similar issue. The rain forest song only plays for my text message notification, all other notification tones are ones that I picked. I too cannot find the rain forest tone anywhere on my phone to even delete. This only started happening after the Froyo update I received this past Saturday. There are other issues with the update, but this one is the most confounding...

The same thing happened to my phone and my husband's Samsung Epic running Galaxy.

I cannot take my phone anywhere now because I cannot turn off this music unless I go to silent mode. THIS IS THE WORST PHONE ever!! How unbelievably stupid!! Who wants to walk around with a little battery operated device that continuously plays soft tranquil music - it's like 24/7 elevator music!! It woke me up at 3am!!

I can't wait to get rid of my phone now. Plus, I it's always stuck at home being charged up because it only last 5 hours. The one time I needed it - in an emergency when I could not find my child - the phone was dead of course.

OK, sorry for the rant, but I could just kick myself from giving up my "old" phone that last 5 days!

I have tried the suggestions but nothing seems to work. I spent 30 minutes on the phone with Sprint yesterday. The senior tech finally told me they are aware of the problem and I might see a fix in a few weeks.:(

The disappointing support issue is when I asked how I will find out about the fix they told me to keep checking forums. It would seem like they should be able to notify a user when a reported problem is fixed.
