VZW Rejected Gingerbread for Droid X...sad, sad, sad!

So not really sure if this has been posted or not but apparently VZW turned out Gingerbread from Moto. We could of possibly saw official Gingerbread with the new Blur (and soon new ROM's) but nope...

--And just to let everyone know, I am just starting a discussion about it, there is no proof that my source's are reliable.--

P3droid already said it was going to be within 6 weeks, just be patient, no need for more threads about it ;)

MDW doesn't do "reporting."

They do ridiculous rumor mongering and baseless statements that they pass off like they have some kind of shred of substance. I think it's frustrating and does nothing but stir people up over nothing.

The rumor started that it would get rolled out this Sunday. P3droid, who is the ONLY one so far who has been reliable in his information, stated "soonish" means 6 weeks. ANY idiot with a twitter account could then post that the update got rejected to go back to Moto for a month, and look like a genius if P3droid's information is correct.

It's kinda sad that sites with any kind of high profile will spread absurd rumors based off an unknown person's tweet.

I have no desire for an OTA for my X. Running Apex I am a happy camper and couldn't ask for my phone to do more. Do I want a "new" ROM with all of the bugs associated, all the tweaks to make it the way I like it, etc. Nope-- I'm good, thanks.

Sure-- things can always be better- but my phone works in a way I am very pleased with, gets 20+ hours of battery life, rooted, and themed to my liking.

Oh well. If it comes out, fine. If it doesn't, fine. I'm happy with my DX as it is, and I'm not going to get cranky about something that was never promised to me doesn't arrive. Besides, if Verizon actually did reject it, it might have a problem we wouldn't like. Or maybe they just want to put more bloatware in it, who knows. Or maybe all this GB talk is just rumors floating around and we"ll never get it. Or maybe it's ready and Verizon/Motorola is putting up a smokescreen to surprise us all tomorrow. I'll install it when/if it arrives. Not much choice, probably. Didn't plan on doing FroYo right away, but it automatically downloaded and installed while my phone was in my locker at work.

While we were not promised any new system updates and all that I still want it, yes my phone works really well but my reason for buying a 3rd Android device was because I am expecting to get more than 1 system, with every Android release it feels like a new device, I bought it for that experience and like I said before I want to see a spike in the dev community, I am rooted, I love what's been done to it but coming from Dinc, the X's rom's dont have many features. I do realize that its mostly because of the locked bootloader though so I am in no way shape of form offending the dev's they're doing an awesome job.

Lol, I bet that got some people excited about GB for the X

it sure got me excited! That is why i posted it. I know benchmarks are not very reliable, but ripping off nearly 1800 numbers totally stock??...that is impressive no matter how you look at it...imagine what guys will start seeing when we get root and can start OC'ing?!

and to have a well respected developer actually say that Blur "kicks ass" is just awesome to hear...

Yeah I'm not a big fan of the whole Blur/Sense crap because I believe that getting a Google experience phone is meant to be the way Google meant the system to be used, but if you look at the Bionic video's with the new Blur (which is what X is supposed to get) its actually really nice, it gives a hint of awesome while not being in your face all the time.

I understand the preference for a pure Android experience...but i will say...that even the Blur that comes stock on the X has bits and pieces that make the standard Android version look pretty crappy...The camera and alarm clock being a couple...
