quick question. Does the below do all the wiping of cache/dalvik/data that you need to do before flashing rom? Meaning i can just flash this and be down instead of having to boot into recovery and wipe things manually? Is there a step by step on how to use the tool below?

Calkulin's Format All - Flash prior to flashing ROM. It will wipe everything for you including /system, which normal data wipes skip (they only wipe /data and /cache)

Direct Download:
Calkulin\'s_FORMAT_ALL.zip

Calkulin's Clear Temp - Clears temp files from cache, data & SD card partitions (Good to do before backup)

Direct Download:
Calkulin\'s_ClearTemp.zip

Between those two files you should be good to go.

Keep the suggestions coming guys!!

(register to access all downloads) All Mik versions including mik z 1.1 for EVOMikfroyo 4.6 is a fully customizable Odex ROM (looks stock) it's already Mikoptimized then add on mods and themes to your liking.

Site is still under construction...themes and mods will be added throughout the week.

please *NOTE* Mik has asked that all downloads be done from site (ok to link site). just no re-mirroring of downloads please!

The file isn't unzipped unless you unzipped it. It'll be right where you left it likely in your downloads folder for flashing again and again. I flash it before flashing any roms and flash clear temp before backups. I'm anal though so I still wipe everything manually too.

stupid question, but in astro file manager it shows the file for those tools as an open box. does that mean i unzipped it? Or can i still go in clockwork and flash that file again?

Hmmm I dunno bud I don't use astro. If you long press does it give you an extract option? If so it's still zipped. If it won't let you open a file that's inside of it it's still zipped. Flashing it doesn't unzip it so it should be zipped still but you should be able to tell if it gives you an extract option our won't open a file.

Don't mention it. I remember when I was new to flashing and all the members here were quick to help me. Just trying to give back to the forum.

You know what I've noticed... if you leave your GPS on before you install any ASOP rom, you won't have any issues with the GPS after the install. I did do the whole GPS clear but when I installed MIUI without turning my GPS on, I had to switch back and do the trick.. again. But this time, I left my GPS on for a while and installed Evervolv, I had no issue with the GPS at all.

New to the forums...and flashing.

Speaking of Calkulin's Format All, I tried installing it and it didn't work. I saved it to my SD card and rebooted into recovery mod and tried installing the zip file. It started to install but after a few seconds it said installaition was aborted. What am i doing wrong?

Thanks in advance!

What recovery are you using? Does the failed install give you an error message?

Welcome to the forums. Did you get a specific error message? If I'm not mistake, format all is using amend, so if you're using clockwork 3.0.0.5, you need to either downgrade to 2.6.0.1 or use any version of RA. Again, though, that's only if you got an error message about amend and edify.

I see alot of recommendations to use Rom Manager to flash ROMS but what about the wipe you would normally do?

Just my opinion, but I would not use Rom Manager. I would learn to do everything in recovery. It is more likely to complete without any issues and if you ever have a problem and can't boot your phone normally, you are more comfortable doing the steps to fix it manually. If you are using Rom Manager, you are likely using Clockwork Mod which is know for being buggy also(Rom Manager is the front end of CWM). I would suggest switching to Amon RA 2.3 as it seems to have fewer issues with wiping(escpecially) and flashing.

Here is a link to the files and instructions for doing it. One thing to remember though is that CWM nandroids can not be restored in Amon RA so you will need to make a fresh nandroid after you flash Amon.

One more question. I think I need to update radio. I've read somewhere that if this isnt done right you can brick your phone. Last time I updated I just flashed it like anything else. No problem. Do I need to do anything special?
