Root CM7 RC2 - Incredible

Hey i just flashed CM7 (my first rom) and the is a repeating blue android screen with cyanogen that keeps cycling over and over. What should I do.

I've been stuck in the cyangen bootloop many times now.I have given up on it for the time being and have reverted to virtuous. Some say it is enabling wifi.

When its fixed ill be back.

You need to "Wipe" data, cache, delvic (advanced) first. You're most likely having an issue with the fact that you have Froyo System files and are trying to boot GB.

Perform a backup, then full wipe, and flash. I good thing to do first is use Titanium Backup to backup your apps and such, but when you restore, just restore "Missing Apps and data".

The issue I've have from time to time is in the actual charging process. I read somewhere that when some phones were brought up from 1.6 to 2.+, they ran into some issues with charging. Well, right now I cannot use my normal chargers, all chargers that have worked in the past. They go from Charging to not charging, actually draining my battery faster. When this happened during the first set of nightlies (pre-RC1), I eventually switched to MIUI to get away from GB and it worked fine. Now, I'm back and the charging issue has returned. Fortunately, I've since picked up an 1800mA battery, so I can get by with just swapping batteries, but it's certainly more than annoying.

Trouble is, I haven't seen anyone with this same issue on the DInc. That or I just don't know what to search for. Has anyone heard of or seen this personally? And if so, any suggestions on how to correct it?

So with CM7 for some reason my apps button on the bottom between dialer and browser has gone away so now I can't access my apps. Anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I'm assuming you've fixed this by now, but incase anyone else has this problem at some type just do the following:

  • Press-Hold Home Screen
  • From list of items to add, select "Launcher Actions"
  • Click third option down, "Open/close App Drawer"

This is function of ADW Launcher, not CM7.

What version of CWM are you running? You need 3.0.x.x. It souns like you have a 2.5.x.x version

I have CWM 3.0.0.8. I upgraded before installing cyanogen.

However, I think I did find the problem. Whenever I run Titanium Backup to restore my app data; the next time I turn off the phone it will loop on the restart.

I must be restoring something I'm not supposed to.

ive been on rc 3 all day, not bad battery i guess, same as the others, display takes up most of it. had a little hiccup before where the unlock screen was frozen. i was still able to reboot from holding the power button. all in all everything seems to be working fine, ill give a day or two before my final verdict.

I had the same problem on my lockscreen once (with RC3), all has been fine since a reboot though.

Anyone notice vastly decreased boot times? I'm loving how quick it boots. Been since either RC3 or RC4. Hard to say which, since 3 was only out for like a week before 4 was released (or so it seemed).

Side Note: Would any of the mods mind changing the title of the thread to not specify RC2?

I'm on RC2 right now. If I want to go to RC4 do I need to wipe, install RC4, and then restore or can I just install RC4 on top of what I have now?

You should be able to flash over top. For whatever reason, I had to reflash GApps. Personally, I'd recommend just wiping and Flashing. With big updates like this, I just like to start fresh, that way I KNOW there are no prior system data conflicts.
