Root Gingerbread IS ROOTED

Just tried to sbf for the first time and everything seemed to be going well until the Loading RAM Downloader for bootloader or something like that. It failed. What could cause this? I am using the RSD Lite 4.9. The error I am getting says Failed flashing process: Interface BP: Error sending RAM download for bootloader. Device API Error

Please help.

Has anyone seen this error when trying to sbf? I have tried multiple times and keep getting this error. This is with the Full sbf. I am currently downloading the system only sbf to try that.

Ok back on 2.2.340 and rooting is happening, just moments away from my rooted Gingerbread. Has anyone tried the Droid X Bootstrap to see if it is working? I know on the leaked version of motoblur, which did not do justice to what they came out with in Gingerbread we had to use the Droid 2 Bootstrap.

If you are trying to use bootstrap on GB - DX bootstrap does not work use D2 bootstrap on DX/D2

Has any one tried renaming the materstock zip file to update.zip and flashing it through stock recovery? Just a thought, I'm stuck @ work with no usb cable.

The file name doesn't matter. You cannot flash anything other than Motorola-supplied zip files through stock recovery. Not maderstock, not TBH files, not anything.

It verifies a signature on the zip file. No other zip file will work even if it's called "update.zip."

DX bootstrap doesn't work, apparently D2 bootstrap does. On another note, after trying to use Wireless tether I am being prompted from verizon to activate the $20/month. I don't want this, nor do I want to tether right now but I can't access web/market until I get rid of this request, any ideas?

I got this yesterday trying the Mobile Hotspot I could not do anything. A reboot fixed it.

For anyone who has already downloaded, i included the dev recovery file so your recovery is broken..otherwise it will work great

Ok, TBH app and mirrors have been updated with correct recovery, give the mirrors 5 mins to populate

Dammit! I am making a backup as we speak. Think a zip install without wipe will work?

thats what I'm wondering. I'm assuming he meant that the stock recovery was gone, so we can install the new one without wiping and then try to boot into stock recovery?

just confirmed stock recovery is missing. if you get
"Bootloader 30.04"
"Err: A5, 69, 35, 00, 3D

Battery OK
OK to program
Transfer Mode:
USB

then you have the first prerooted GB.
download the new one and install it in CWR

He is helping you out. Look at the tutorial and follow the procedure to use RSDlite and install the SBF on your phone. If you have specific questions on the procedure, we can answer them but that's how you need to get started - follow that procedure.

So after reading through, i still can't get anything to work. I know, I must be an idiot. It's still giving me a failed something to do with the jump. on my phone it says critical error FEBE 0047. I'm just looking for anyone that can give me some step by step help. I probably shouldn't try and root my phone again after this.

Yeah I am wondering if we can flash this new file over the original rooted GB he posted...

I am assuming SBF is not necessary (unless you have OCD and that's your thing). A install should be all we need. It's only changing the recovery file so I guess all else should remain the same...

Looks like they are reccomending SBF. Guess it's a good thing I am sick today. Nothing better to do.

No, I don't expect that you're an idiot. But you're not giving us anything to troubleshoot. This is how the discussion has gone:

You: "Help me."
Us: "Here is something that will help you."
You: "Okay. Someone help me."
Us: "He tried to help. Look at what he gave you."
You: "It's not working. Some kind of error. Can someone help?"

So, happy to help. Exactly what have you done that has led you to this error, what kind of error are you getting and where are you seeing it? Is it a black screen with white writing? Did you install RSDlite? We have no idea where you are in this process.

So who is going to be the first to try and flash the updated Rooted Gingerbread over the first Rooted Gingerbread without wiping anything?

I will be willing to, but I am downloading it over 3G and only at 10%, this morning the first version took me about 45 minutes. The way I look at is that if it does not work I will just have to SBF back to .340 again anyway. I don't have any apps updated on my phone except D2 Bootstrapper and the TBH app.
