EVO 3D or Sprint Galaxy S2 variant?

There are plenty of threads on this..and I have posted my options there .....don't want to derail thus thread ....

I answered the op ...that was my only intent

The Super AMOLED Plus display does only have 800x480 pixels vs. 540x960 pixels, but the Plus display gives it more subpixels along with better color saturation and contrast. Plus, the Sprint S2 is a no-brainer for me if it has a phsyical keyboard.

Which one will you upgrade to and why?
Don't get a Samdung.

(Yes, that was originally a typo... but I have decided to keep it because it is actually quite appropriate).

Why? I'll just follow along with my wise friend above and state that the reasons will easily (as it often does) derail a thread. There are many other threads, that are easily found, that will give you the reasons (just run a search for "don't buy a samsung").

To me, Samsung makes better hardware than HTC, but absolutely fails when it comes to software. If I were to make the decision. I would have Samsung hardware with HTCs software. I will be getting evo 3d unless there is a keyboarded samsung 3d like the hero/moment, Evo/epic

I doubt it would be 3D. It's going to be a variant of the Galaxy S2 like the first Galaxy S series was, most likely. Since Sprint's S variant had a keyboard, our S2 hopefully will too.

Agreed. The super amoled is AMAZING. I won't ditch my Epic for an Evo right now, but when the time comes for me to replace this phone, it WILL NOT be anything Samsung.

I really don't think the Evo 3D is phone worth getting. Sure it might have some nice bells and whistles but that is all they'll be.

In addition, does anyone have any idea how much ram is consumed by Sense 3.0?

I watched a video review of the sensation. Sense UI literally consumed 2/3 of the memory by itself. That absurd.

And, as a current HTC owner of a rooted HERO with gingerbread, I hated HATED waiting on HTC to release updates. I'd never go through that experience again.

if you liked the rooting and dev support of the Hero... the EVO3D is shaping to be as popular as the Hero and EVO with the dev community.

which is ranked one of the top (if not top) rooted support phones.

other the the 2 nexus phones.. who do you think is getting better OEM support?

ps.. welcome to the forum.

I dunno if I would call what the EVO 3D offers just some nice "bells and whistles." Sure the 3D cam and screen may be just extra "bells and whistles" but if thats all you see, you've got a bad case of tunnel vision. The hardware specs of the EVO 3D are simply top of the line, and the software is (arguably) the best available. It's pretty hard to argue that. Not saying its for everyone, but no matter how you slice it, its an impressive device.

Here's something that may help you decide...

http://www.androidauthority.com/htc...ii-extreme-android-superphone-standoff-12568/

Not really that in-depth but it's a pretty good comparison.

I'm definitely going with the S2 because the hardware is better and I don't need Samsung's software and updates because that's the beauty of Android... if you don't like it, Change it. So mine will be rooted and have that CyanogenMod 7 ROM that Samsung has them cooking up :)
Then you can try to tell me which phone is better.
