So here is the story.
I just got home from work, had my extended battery on my phone since I counted on a longer day than usual. Not the case. I popped my ext battery out, and put in my standard battery, booted up the phone. Display reads 93% (i'm running the perfect storm rom). I turn my display off, throw some leftovers in the microwave and grab my TB. 91% now. 35 seconds and it drops 2%? Interesting. I decide to reboot the phone. When it restarts, the display reads 74%. Wow. That's a serious drop.
I decide to reboot again, and it drops yet again to 68% where it seems to be holding relatively steadily. I'm rooted so I can't bump charge. Any suggestions? I think it's a ridiculous flaw in programming if they can't even get the device to read the battery life correctly. Does anyone have any solutions to get it to read the battery correctly in the first place? I generally put my phone on the charger overnight before bed, and take it off on my way out the door the next day. Maybe the reason people are reporting terrible battery drain is from the phone thinking it's charged up fully, and then the phone realizing "Oh crap, that number isn't right, i'll just make it look like i'm draining the battery, and once I reach the correct number i'll level off".
The same thing happened today with my extended battery. It drained fairly quickly (although not as fast as that did) until it hit roughly 77%, then it stayed there for a good hour or so before dropping down 1%. Any ideas as to why it does this? Sorry if it's been covered already, i'm pretty sure this is why bump charging is recommended, but I can't do that now that i'm rooted. If there are any other threads that cover this, could someone link me to it?
