Root 2.3.3 Gingerbread Issues Thread

I can't make any outgoing calls. I press the dialer button and go to contacts, click the contact and the screen goes away. I was able to make a call using voice commands, thats it. This definitely wont work for me!

Try reactivation *22899, if that doesn't fix it, do a factory reset, then reactivate the phone again *22899.

My big issue is I can't get the blur home to show up so I can pick it as Home after clearing defaults. All my other launcher are on the list but the blur.home isn't (using homeswitcher). I was able to select it at one point after selecting widgetlocker but with widgetlocker installed I couldn't put apps on the home screen from the app draw as widgetlocker would crash. so I uninstalled WL and now I can't get to the blur home at all and I'm forced to run a 3rd party launcher, very weird. For a time I had it running it was pretty cool but now I can't even try it out :-( I never thought I'd say this but home do I get blur back? lol

There is a Moto Home Fix app that I believe will fix your issue.

Give it a shot and let me know if that takes care of it.

My data is working fine, but I can't make or receive calls. The activation says it works, but when I make a call afterwards, I get a message telling me to 'please hold while we connect you to an external operator where you can make a call with a credit card.'

wtf?

I had a similar type issue with Backup Assistant, it kept saying dial *611 to speak with customer service. I fixed it with a Factory Reset.

When I first installed Gingerbread on my Droid X the Swiftkey keyboard was working, I changed to Better keyboard that was already installed but it reverted to the stock keyboard and will not switch to any other keyboard. Also have the sync icon in the toolbar that will not go away.

After going back into settings I found another setting under Input method that fixed this problem.
BTW I love some of the upgrades especially on the Goggle calendar.

Not sure about the keyboard stuff. But, I had the sync icon thing. I had to do a factory reset to get it to go away. I tried everything I could think of. Someone smarter than me might be able to figure out another way. I would suggest a factory reset.

Edit: Did the sync icon go away?

hey did anyone figure out what to do now for duplicate contacts....since "link contact" isn't an option anymore in GB? Thx in advance.

Yes go in to your contact that you want to link, pull up the menu and Edit Contact, pull up the menu again and Join. This will let you "link" then again. What is actually nice is that everyone I have done this for it has figured it out and gave me the short list of contacts.

Also in contacts if you pull up the menu and choose display options you can then pick which services you want to show in your contact list. Again just one of the amazing changes that have been made to blur.
