I got a cheap screen protector and hard case from ebay and am not happy with it, the screen protector bubbles and is a fingerprint magnet. the hard case is just too bulky.

wanted to get some user reviews on both Zagg invisible shield and BodyGuardz. Mainly concerned with how they hold up and how the look through the shield and how fingerprints are.

links below.

ZAGG | invisibleSHIELD | HTC Hero (Sprint, Cellular South) Cases, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Skins, Invisible Shield

BodyGuardz for Sprint Hero - BodyGuardz | Skins, Screen Protectors, Covers, Shields, Cases, Clear, Film

I can't tell you anything about those two since I haven't tried them. I have Phantom Skinz on mine and am pleased. It is not too sticky and has only a very very minimum orange peal look to it. (I understand the ZAGG is pretty bumpy). Best of all, the price is hard to beat at $10 with a 30% coupon code that I think they update pretty regularly if you g00gle for it and you get two for the price of one. Fingerprints come off almost as easy as the naked screen, but nothing really beats the oleo-phobic coating they put on the glass.

Any way you end up going, follow the directions and use very slightly soapy warm water on the piece and your fingers before you place it and squeeze out the water, wiping it up promptly with paper towel. Oh and wash your hands really well before you start and use some canned air to blow any lint/dust/hair/misc debris off of your very clean screen before you place the protector.

It took a couple days for the residual moisture to evaporate through the plastic screen and make it perfectly clear, but that's it.

I have a Seidio hard case and barely notice it. It has the same "soft-touch" feel as a naked Hero and adds nearly no bulk. Its a bit pricey, but I was able to find it for just over $20 on amazon

Good luck!

I have a Zagg full body shield and I love it. That said its very hard to install and does have more a a grippy feel that many people seem to hate. I installed it perfectly I like how it feels but that is personal preference. I also have an oem HTC silicone case which I also like, fits perfect and not too bulky. Truthfully, I probably would not have paid the price of any of these items had I not had a bestbuy giftcard.

Hey, I just wanted to let you know some of the advantages of BodyGuardz.

  • include 2 complete sets (2 full body protectors and 2 screen protectors)*
  • offer lifetime replacements
  • are optically clear
  • custom fit each device
  • provide full body and screen protection
  • require no special care or maintenance
The film doesn't get the orange peel effect that some of the other protectors do and they won't yellow. When they are installed properly you can barely tell that the BodyGuardz are on your device.
Visit bodyguardz.com to order what you need.

I have spent a couple hours reviewing the feedback, advertising claims, and watching YouTube videos. It's amazing how much time a smartphone can waste for us... :p

So far, except for the sock puppets that jump up and proclaim the goodness of Zagg--the user base seems to have a very mixed reaction. The dimpled orange peel is part and parcel of its function. I don't believe that I care for that.

Of the several other "premium" screen protectors, Bodyguardz seems to lead the pack in favorable comments--and be a top contender for optical clarity if it is installed correctly.

Do others concur with this?
