Root Giving Cash For Root!

you dont know any friends who will do this for you? I do my friends phones for free... honestly read the root threads about 30x and save your money... you knowing how to root your own phone is worth the effort... but mail it to nj and I'll do it

Yeah, all my friends come to me and say "Can you hack this?" I then try to explain the procedure and how and why it works. They just say "I dont care how, I just want wireless tether". I may be the local geek but I do what I love.:D

I am somewhat computer savvy, I rooted my Samsung Moment by myself. But that was just dowloading a couple files and dropping them on the SD card. From what I have read this takes some /comand promt know how and I know nothing on that stuff. If root for the TBolt actually is 1 click root please post a link where I dont jave to do ADB stuff.

It doesn't take any know how. You copy and paste the command lines and wait. That's it.

However, there is this one click method [SCRIPT] Windows One Click Root Method [3/26/11] - xda-developers

I would still do it via ADB, but whatever floats your boat.

I used this method and had only previous experience with unrevoked for INC. My co-worker used same method and worked for him and he had no experience. He never did root his eris but did the TB.

I had ZERO android experience and I used this along with the ADB for dummies and the only issue I had was me not paying attention and not doing the last step. Dont be afraid of it. Its far too easy with the easyroot. Just follow directions. Make sure you read the PDF, it will walk you through EVERYTHING period.

I want to be sure that I have this straight. I found the "ADB for Dummies" page. From that it appears that there is only 2 or 3 things to copy and paste into /comand promt. So after I do that I will have root?

xda-developers

Read that PDF. If you still dont feel comfortable doing this method, I would have to agree with theacoustician. The reason to root wont be there either. Will you feem comfortable romming your phone? Will you be comfortable changing settings and flashing your phone? Do you plan on fully customizing your phone at all? If you said no to these, rooting your droid really isnt something for you. To be honest, I only did it to remove bloatware, and maybe rom later down the road. I hope this helps you though man. If you have any other questions, dont hesitate to ask.

THE ONLY STUPID QUESTIONS ARE THE ONES NOT ASKED!

I just wanted to 2nd everything that was said here. Also to reinterate, DON'T BE AFRAID TO ASK QUESTIONS!! The community here and on XDA is very good at helping with any problems that you might have, or anything that you might be unsure of. Most of us remember what it was like to be a noob. :)

Anyone live reletively near the Memphis TN area able to root my TBolt? Im paying cash!
Rooting isn't that bad. And like others have said people are very helpful here. This is my first Droid phone and my first time rooting and I got through it. A little stressful because its my 1st time, but looking back it wasn't bad.

Here is an instructional video I used:

Step 1
Steps 2-9

Just use the exact links he uses in the video and you'll be fine. The video + the great help found on this MB and you'll be fine.

Good luck, and no need to spend money on it. Besides, it wouldnt be such a bad ides to learn how its done for your own knowledge.

Lol. Yellow, was it just me, or was the preroot more nerve wracking than the actual rooting process? haha. I know I read the ENTIRE forum (At that point it was 11 pages and I have them set to 40 posts per page...haha) and the only thing I did wrong was not doing the last step. I did it twice, but the second time it was a BREEZE cause I realized "This is frackin EASY" lol.

I had 2 stressful moments:

1. I put the wrong file on the sd card the first time
2. I messed up a copy and paste

Yes you heard that right, easiest freaking part of the root process is copy command, paste, and hit enter.......yet I messed it up. Somehow when I tried to copy 1 line I accidentally copied like 5 paragraphs. Good news is it wont understand or identify funky commands so no harm no foul.

Again both were remedied pretty easily by people on this MB. I had no clue how to fix it and people here helped me through it pretty easily. Actually they helped me through very easily. I was stressing and they fixed it with no problem at all in a few seconds.

So i find its more stressful then it is hard. anyone is going to stress because they fear they will brick a phone and dont want to purchase one at retail or be without a phone.

I'm here to tell you instructions are easy as pie and don't worry. You will get it done if you can d/l a few files and copy and paste.

One thing that helped me is I followed the video and the video often did the command adb devices to make sure the phone was connected properly. As long as it was I knew I was doing something right.
