Root Best pre-root backup method?

Someone else is having this problem. I was wondering if its possible to go through windows into your system and just copy everything over to your sdcard. I don't know what all is accessible though since I don't really have anything terribly important on my phone so wiping wasn't too bad for me. If you can access everything on your phone I imagine you could just make a copy of your phone and replace those files. Just an idea.

Thanks. I was looking at backup pro but never tried it. I assume you can't backup actual app data unless you're rooted, but this seems like a nice all in one solution. Only thing is I'm not sure if it's worth it to drop the $5 especially if I'm gonna switch to tb once im rooted. Any idea how the free version holds up?

do you need titanium backup and is it worth purchasing the pro version?

Yes x10000, I can not recomend Titanium enough. It makes switching ROMs painless and is a great tool. Just remember when you are restoring System Data to only restore the data that are listed in Green. You can restore the ones listed in Red, however restoring that data can cause issues when going from ROM to ROM.

You can also set up scheduals with the pro version, for example I have scheduals set up to back up all of my new apps and any updated apps every Monday, Wed., and Friday at 3am. I also have two other scheduals set to automatically back up my system settings and all of my apps.

The free version is awesome for using as a one time back up before you can get root and use TiBu. It will actually work just like the pro version, the only restriction it has is the amount of backups you can make and restore.
