Root [ROM] [MikRoms] The Perfect Storm v1.4 [04-23-11] Thunder and Lightning!

Another un related question. If I back this rom up with my apps installed with rom manager, will al my apps become part of the rom. I know I have lots of reading to do but thanks anyways. :)

i personally would become comfortable wiping/flashing/backing up in recovery before considering the use of rom manager. ive seen it eff things up on other forums, and its really helpful in fixing the prollems that arrise from it when yuo know how to use recovery. after your skilled at using revcovery,if you still feel the need to use rom manager,go ahead. i personally avoid it like the plauge

if i understand your question correctly, when you make a backup, yes, its backing up your apps, call log, text messages, etc. every thing will be as exactly as it was when you made the backup, when you restore it.

Yes, everything Scott just said. I've used ROM Manager once and it was to flash CWM after rooting my TB, I uninstalled right after.

same here. the only other thing i occasionally use rom manager for is to boot into recovery if i happen to be in a rom that doesnt have a "reboot recovery" option when holding down power, and im feeling too lazy to power off and get to recovery thru hboot ;)

i hope as time goes on we will get hbootable recovery images like we had for the inc. that will be one less thing to use rom manager for :D

1- hold power down while holding the down volume button. (boot into recovery)
2-Select recovery
3-Now in clockwordrecovery select back up and restore.
4-backup
Is that what you meant by backing up in recovery?

youve got it! in that same recovery menu, after doing your backup, chose the options to wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache, and under advanced, wipe dalvic cache.

then choose the option to install zip, then chose zip on sd card, then scroll down and chose the file that you have previously transfered to your sd card.

after the rom installs, select the option to reboot :)

I went to use setcpu, and watched a Youtube video on it. The video mentioned that in the main screen where you move the sliders if you move them and the max number does not change above it, but just on the slider then the ROM your using is not set to use setcpu?

I am using perfect storm. Is this the case or am I missing something.

PS...I am a rooting noob.

This is an HTC Kernel thing. In Set CPU hit your menu button, then select Perflock Disabler and follow the directions to activate that.

After that you should be golden :)

Since I flashed this ROM, I can't do an over-the-air update via *228. Each time I try, it shows OTA Update on the phone and then just hangs up. I restarted the phone and same thing. ALSO. I can't get Wireless Tethering (free verson that only works after root. I used it with my Incredible all the time!) to work at ALL. My laptop gets an IP address from the phone, but it can NEVER get on the internet!

Anyone else having these issues?

No one can use 228 in the tb regardless of root

Loving this ROM! I can't believe the battery life I'm getting and really like animations. Went a full day yesterday with moderate use (16 hours) and climbed in the bed with 43% battery.:D

wish i could say the same... battery for me is about the same as it was with virus,or with stock. im not experiencing anywhere near the dramatic differences that others are.

in all fairness,i think im pretty hard on my phone. i talk on it a couple hours a day, prolly, plus check email, browse the net, play some games when im not driving... it gets very little rest

i like this rom pretty well, but had a random reboot, plus some extreme lag when opening the message app that was so bad i rebooted it.

thinking ill give das_bamf a try

It didn't work for me ever on that ROM... You could make all the adjustments you wanted to, the sound never changed a bit. I don't think it actually works on the TB yet.

Thanks (I would click thanks if it was available in the AF app), I kept trying to tweek it to no avail. Like you no matter what adjustment I made, it made no difference in sound quality.

Edit: all of a sudden the thank button reappeared.

This is my 1st an only custom rom so far, and i am really liking this one. One question though, how do i disable the verizon backup tool? I made the mistake of enabling it, an now i don't know how to disable it. It don't follow the sync time rules you set, so it needs to go. I have it set to sync between 12pm an 6am, and it syncs multiple times during the day when ever it wants too.
