"Battery too low to Power ON"

I can't charge my NOOK Color. When I plug it in the wall charger the screen comes up with "Battery too low to Power ON" and stays like that. After four hours I cannot power it on as it always comes back to that screen.

Now if I plug into my computer's USB port the same screen comes up and then goes away and it charges nicely but when I go on vacation I won't have a computer USB to charge it. Any suggestions?

Same thing happened to me last night. I was reading with the Kindle app until around 11PM. When I was finished I saw the battery was at 31%. I hit the power button to turn off the screen. At 5:30 this morning the Nook was dead. Completely. I plugged it in and got the same message you did.

I will plug it back in tonight and see what happens.

I did read over on XDA that CM7 (which I also run) does not actually go to sleep when the screen is off - it is something they may or may not be working on (I forget, to be honest). I guess the trick is to actually power off the device when not using it, or I may flash Nookie Froyo to see if that has better battery/sleep management.

Same situation, running CM7, was probly around 30% and just turned off the screen for the night and didn't try to turn on till 6pm the next day. Plugged it into the AC charger and after about 30 mins it powered itself back on.

Yes this is what I noticed too. Strangely my wall charger will not wake up the sleeping device after 30 mins but the USB cable on my computer does. The same wall charger charges my N1 perfectly.
