What have you noticed since the update? I've noticed a couple of things:

- Unlocking is slightly more finicky than it used to be. You have to drag the bar slightly further down or hold out down longer. Just by fractions, but it's noticable.

- Swype is slightly different. To choose another word, instead of just double-tapping the wrong one to bring up the list, you now double-tap to select it, then tap the Swype button for the list.

Iv noticed that the privacy menu is gone from settings (unless its just me ) so there appears to be no reset

On a side note im already leaving the mt slide i love the phone except i still get hard reset when trying to make calls sometimes...... i got my replacement and the first call i made it happened then updated it to froyo and same thing..... so on to my next device..... moto cliq 2(will be here thurs) i just cant deal with that..... ( btw i tried everything to fix it even the sim card)

I would of swapped it for a G2 way before a Cliq 2....... you about made me call 611 to get an exchange...... last time all they offered was a MotoCharm

Well see i went through amazon wireless which i love the cusmer service is us based....... i got the slide for a penny and the cliq 2 was a penny also so haha plus since they couldnt overnight it they gave me $10 in my amazon account so i paid -9.99 for a moto cliq 2

I really don't see that many changes. Still trying to figure out how to move things to SD card but i do love the live wallpapers.
i replied in the other topic about the sd as for the live wallpapers..... it comes stock with one... google map.....

For thoughs of you that havent been on a froyo phone before (ie lg ally) they arnt anything really special..... ya they are cool to look at but causes the phone to freeze and also say good bye to your battery life (which IMO is already week as it is..... i unpluged this phone at midnight and it is 3 pm here in sunny california and im at 20% already on my old ally it would last till 6pm before getting to 20% this may be into part the fact my slide does this lovely thing and resets itself when trying to make a call sometimes isnt that awesome hehe)

There's been no change to my battery life that I've noticed over the last couple of days...
Check your battery usage before live wallpapers and after there is about 2% difference with display and idle.... it also depends on how elaberate the background is... you may also notice a lagwhen changing home screens

2.2 has definitely increased my battery life by 6-12 hours depending on usage, even with live wallpapers. Wallpapers does slow down the phone as others have mentioned. Apps to SD has made life much easier. It's nice to install apps again. Swype is terrible though and it's been a headache. Tangent mentioned one issue in the 1st post and the pop-up box loves to pick words other than the ones I want. Screen auto-rotate does not work while on the main screen, not that it's a big deal. Overall it's worth the upgrade for battery life and apps2SD. I like my phone again.

I think my battery life has lasted longer than it was before actually... Although I have had several problems since the update. The screen goes screwy and the top of the screen goes down to the bottom (about a 1/4 of the screen) and you have to shut off the screen to get it right again. And half the time when I open the slider to send a text message in landscape mode, the screen goes black and I have to close it and hit the power button to get the screen back on. Also, the signal seems MUCH stronger, however I lose signal sporadically, from 5 bars to none.

If I do a factory reset on this phone (to try to fix the issues), will it revert back to the original software as it was when purchased? Or would I still have the new version?

Hi all...noob here. Just updated this afternoon.

Things I've noticed so far:

  1. I have less system memory than I did before. 25MB (out of 128MB) before update. I now have 17.25MB and that's with moving all the apps I could to the SD
  2. I can't move my largest apps to my SD card (i.e. all the ones I really wanted to move; mail, shazam, facebook, epicurious, price grabber, etc.
  3. Still can't uninstall News and other extracurricular bloatware
  4. A little problem with the slide unlock but not anything critical

This is my first smartphone so I'm not too savvy.

Do you guys have any tricks for me to gain some phone space?

I'd love to figure out how to decraese my mail since it's 50MB. Can't figure out how to do it.

Thanks!

Well low space means either install less apps or make sure they can be moved to the sd card(usually tells you in the description)...with bloatware you are stuck with it unless you root the phone. Ignore it and it wont bother you.

and yea i meant 10.2, why wouldnt you be able to install 10.2 or even 10.1 on froyo on the slide?? theres just this shitty flash lite....

and i think im gonna have to end up buying a new phone. might have to pick up the g2x next week... i just like the slide because of the keyboard. i hate the onscreen keyboard bs.

I think its the slide's processor that isn't good enough. Not sure if that is the actual reason for not having Flash 10.2 or 10.1. But that is the reason this phone can't have Firefox Mobile. Needs an ARM7 processor, the slide is ARM6 or something like that.

I think the Swype keyboard is great. It just takes some getting used to. There are many different on-screen keyboards you can download and install as well - its just a matter of finding one you like.
