Root Change battery icon

in a nutshell:

go to the how to page. i used the "from your rom" method. take your rom, unzip it with 7-zip and get the framework-res.apk.

go to the upload part and upload it. choose edify scripting on the left hand side.

once your framework has uploaded,go to the battery section of the kitchen. pick the style, color, etc.

go back to the summary page and click submit work to kitchen.

it will then provide you with a .zip to download and flash in recovery.

this is the first time ive used it,so please provide any details ive left out,mr worm :)

like i said,i this is the first ive seen of it,so i havent really verified that what i just did worked yet :p

thanks worm. thats a pretty slick site. i couldnt really think of anything i wanted to change right off,so im going to change my boot animation to test it out.

No problem. That's where my honeybread status bar for BAMF came from. The battery and WiFi icons are S I C K! I tried the honeycomb boot and it was kind of wack, so I'd avoid it. I wanted to try the CIA one, just for S&G's :)

TPS is odexed, correct? Themes/Mods only play nice on deodexed ROMs :)

odexed/deodexed wouldn't effect the bootanimation, since it isn't doing anything to the actual ROM. But you are correct you can not theme or mod an odexed rom.

BTW for people using the kitchen. There are some mods that will not be changed by the framework. They are changed by the HTC Themes, what I did was made the changes uploaded the framework then downloaded the results. I then downloaded the HTC Theme I wanted's APK and copy and pasted the changes from the new framework file to the theme APK using 7zip.

From there I applied the .zip through CWM to make the changes, then moved the new theme APK to my phone, moved the APK into system/apps, changed the permissions, and rebooted. Bam everything I wanted themed. :)

I got it to work. UOT kitchen isn't too complicated, but there are a ton of choices. I do have a question. I got the glowing crysis battery:

rodykimage.php
Version P, Glowing Crysis

I like the look of it, but I want it to always rotate, not just when charging. I assume that there is a way to do this, but I am lost. Anyone have some advice for a noob wanting to learn?

I'm not sure that is possible, the icons simply follow what the phone tells it to do when called. The rotating animation is the charging state of the icons. I don't think I've ever seen an animated battery icon, that moves when it isn't charging.

well,i never did get the boot animation to work  i did change my battery icon for sh*ts and giggles. neat. :)

I wasn't able to change my boot animation with the Kitchen either, even moving it to the right folder didn't work. I did find an app called Absolute System that is awesome though... It has a ton of options that you can tweek (again make a Nandroid before you start messing around). One of the cool things it has is boot animations, you can preview them, download the ones you want, edit them (although the sound part doesn't seem to work on the TB yet), and then apply them. You do have to move them from data/local, to system/media, however I have had no problem getting them to work. I currently have the Droid R2D2 boot animation on my TB :D

Oh, too bad. I thought if I could find the moving animation, there might be a way to make it always active. I am sure this would be way over my head anyway, but it would be very cool.

hmm,i changed my font and that worked fine... but i tried to change my icons, and they were there for a minute, then reverted back to the old ones.

Hmmmm, haven't tried to change anything with that app but the boot animation. With the phone being so new I'm just gonna chalk it up to the dev of the app not updating it for the TB yet. Our phone seems to be a bit different in terms of some of the tried and true mod methods (the location of the boot animation being one example). So it might take some time for all of the mod programs and apps to catch up.

If you are rooted then you can go HERE and chose one you like. If you're not rooted, I don't know if there's a way. I'm assuming you are as you posted this in All Things Root section.

I tried that site. I set everything up to my liking, I click "Submit to Kitchen" I wait. Nothing happens. I click Pickup and wait and dont see anything. There are a ton of other files, but I dont know what they are , or for who. It always says 0 in my cooked files, even though I submit to kitchen. Confusing.

Did you upload your framework file?
