If I take a camcorder video and email them to a friend or relative who tries to view them on their pc, they cannot because they have to be converted to some other file format first, right? Very few people would know how to do this and/or bother to do it. Can I convert them first on the Atrix and then send them out as a pc viewable video? Thanks

Quicktime would be the answer to the question.
Anywhere, anytime.
Be forewarned: it streams it ALL to the pc, first, before viewing ANY of it. Downloads can be painfully long and the idea that it has timed out is foremost in the mind of the user.
So, warn or convert to some other format.

You should be able to play back the files in VLC. Or you could just upload them to Youtube and send your family links to the videos.

If you were to buy quicktime then you could do all kinds of things with the file and save it. It seems to be an Apple format. Go figure.
I have successfully placed it on the timeline of my editor so I know that you can edit the file.
The way its saved doesn't seem to stream in a friendly manner: it wants to download the whole nugget before you can view any of it. To that end, with qt, you could save it in a different format and smaller.
