Even if I did hate Apple (which I don't), I could jump on here and lay down the most ruthless, vile, insult ridden post filled with more facts than a volume of encyclopedia's... and tomorrow Apple would still sell 40,000 iPad 2's, 60,000 iPhone 4's, and 80,000 iPods worldwide.

So, I wouldn't bother even if I was compelled to.

Why is it that people have this idea that those with Apple products have some sort of superiority complex? I don't get it and I def don't see it from owners of Apple products. Must be an online ego thing?

Why do Android and Apple forums feel the need to villify one another?

There are opinions and points that can be made about one product being better than another (I like OSX over Windows, but prefer Office over Apple's suite. I like Apple's ecosystem of products, but prefer Android for phones. And so on...)

Do you see this superiority complex in real life, talking to people that own iPhones/Mac's/iPads/iPods, or is this just an online thing? Or is this just an "I hate Apple" thing, because Steve Jobs is the CEO, even if you have never tried their products?

I definitely see it from owners of Apple products. Maybe it's just my social circle (SF Bay Area upper-middle-class college-educated liberals).

I don't know. I like Android and Google products. I also like iOS and Apple products.

I actually see it a lot more in real life than online. Online forums, with the exception of a couple of trolls, seem to be more reasonable about this sort of thing. In real life I'm shocked at how many iPhone or Mac users I run into who have an unprovoked and vocal disdain for Android phones and Windows computers.

Interesting. Must be a bit different where I live in Europe than in San Fran. Although I guess I can see it being prominent where you live, since the Cupertino Apple campus is right there. You are in the heart of Apple land. :D

My dad was down in Dublin on business a few months before the Nexus One was released and he met the head(or something) of Google in Ireland who showed him his Nexus One. Before then, I had no idea Google did anything in Ireland...

Which are best - cats or dogs ? Its human nature mate. ;)

Cats are just positioning themselves strategically to take over, and enslave humanity...

Think about it: Cat owners, generally, have more than one cat. Dog owners, generally, have a single dog.

Cats outnumber humans. Cats will eventually take over. Lesson: Be nice to cats, so you have a chance at becoming a "favored pet", rather than just slave labor for them :D

Dogs: They feed me, shelter me, provide attention and care for my every need. They must be God.

Android user: I can do all this cool stuff with this little device in my pocket that ten years ago was science fiction. I must be God.

iPhone user: I can do all this cool stuff with this little device in my pocket that ten years ago was science fiction. Steve Jobs must be God.

This is my opinion on it. When Apple made the first iphone nothing on the market was like it at the time, it was badassed and on top and it started it all. Then Apple came out with the iphone 3G still on top and then the iphone 3gs which I owned and loved. Apples hardware is made well and it's tough and the screens are probably the most responsive to the touch to this day. It's a quality product. We have so many aggressive android makers on the market that have learned a thing or two over the last couple years, HTC, Samsung, Motorola and it's hard to compete with these giants putting alot of love into making their best version of the Android.

Ok in the present, I think Apple is being surpassed in some areas. For one Adobe Flash, Androids are more open and not locked down with Apples rules on how they want you to use the phone, you jailbreak it they go nuts believe me. Android doesn't require Itunes for updates over the Air to me is alot better. The multi tasking on android is better and the android feels more like a computer to me it's just more open and is more capable with it's software. Android has more clunkers in the app store as far as malware apps and stuff like that so you have to be wise one what you download where apple are pretty good at going over the apps, but won't accept alot of good apps. All and all I like Android market apps better more innovative ones than Apple. The hardware is improving alot with HTC, Samsung, Motorola and the software is awesome. so pound for pound to me Android is better. Now I haven't seen the iPhone 5? so I don't know what tricks are up apples sleeves, I just know apple get alot of parts from Samsung, Toshiba I believe for their phones so I dunno. Apple more of a cult following the name Apple means something even if a current Apple product isn't as good it still says Apple on it making it automatically better, superb marketing I must say, many are like sheep so it works out.

So funny, so true, simply brilliant!

My thoughts?

I was tempted by the iphone when I first saw one up close. But I personally dislike the way Apple insists on complete control over everything when it comes to their hardware.

But . . . every carrier has restrictions in place that we freely ignore through rooting. Apple simply tries to enforce their position in court, which is their right in many cases.

We pick on Apple because it is just what we like to do. But Apple is no different than other corporations that also want control.
