Been looking at the Incredible S, which seems like the best choice for me at the moment (a bit smaller than the desire HD and the upcoming dual core sensation). But: locked down bootloader. Apparently nobody has even managed to root it yet. So: no thanks. Same will apply to the sensation, from what i hear. This, from the company with a reputation for being helpful to modders. No more, it seems.
HTC, wtf are you playing at?
Also really liking the look of the sony ericsson experia arc. Beautiful looking piece of kit, amazing camera and screen, ships with 2.3, and apparently S-E have said they will unlock the bootloader for anyone that asks (proof that S-E is indeed a very separate company from sony). Apparently the battery life is pants but i'm almost willing to forgive it that if it looks that good.
Howeeeeeevvvvveeeeeer: internal storage: 320MB. uh? Uh?
UH?!?!? Thats not much more than my hero. The original desire had 512MB and people complain about that not being enough - the latest generation of phones all seem to be 1GB+. It's a bit short on RAM too, 512MB vs the 768MB-1Gig on the rest of the latest top end phones. Basically, this supposedly top end cutting edge phone is not future proof in any way.
Its almost as if somebody passed a law that says every new android phone has to have at least one stupid feature.
Edit: it seems it's actually 512MB internal ROM, the 320MB is the expected amount available after the OS install. Even so... meh
