SweeterHome2 Beta

If someone can show me how to add an icon to the main screen that would be peachy (non widget)

i don't know how other people do it but what i did is
1) go to edit mode add a new custom tray block and resize it to what you want
2) exit edit mode and add the application you want in the custom tray
3) go back to edit mode and press and hold the app's icon and edit
4) play with the "frame/background" and "icon/label style" option till you get what you want etc the size, the border, the colors so on

what i did was for the "frame/background" i don't use any border so it's going to appear as a regular icon. I also use transparent background as well.

for "icon/label style" this is my input
-cell height = 90% percentage of larger block edge
-cell padding = 4 pixels
-cell width = 70% percentage of larger block edge
-icon size = 90% percentage of larger block edge
-selection color = transparent

hope that helps

here is my home screen, the "phone" application is what i made using the above

Two questions.

1) When is it going to be on the Market?
2) Are all normal widgets supported?

I've been waiting for this ever since preview 1 but I had to have the widgets!

1) no idea
2) the current version supports widgets, at least all of my widgets are working anyway

I wish i didnt have a job. This is the most addicting app ive ever used. It is amazing how in depth the capabilities are. I just took off on customizing my home screen and the next thing i know an hour and a half had passed. I am hoping that i can find a nice theme to use as a base to create what i want. I just dont have the time to design a whole setup. Kudos to sweeterskins.

To save your theme,

1. Enter edit mode
2. Bring up the menu
3. Select "Unload/Export"
4. Name your version and save it to SD card and/or internet

This is important not only to protect against crashes but to permit one to try out alternative themes without losing one's own modifications.

Ok i got it saved on the internet which is great. i just wish i could find the one i saved on my sd card last night becuz i spent about 4 hours creating it lol. thanks !

Thoughts on Sweeter Home 2:

I am running 2.0.1 on a Droid and am having very good access with SW2. Most applets are running really smooth and there are many possibilities in setup. I have set up some springboards but prefer to go to the native app vs the home version. All widgets seem much more responsive than DxTop which I was using previously and in general it is a bit more snappy.

Hints:

Use the copy and paste function for ease of setup. This function work everywhere and saves a lot of time.

Lock the tables when they are complete, provides a better experience though must unlock to add apps.

Other than a few FC's on editing my only complaint is the scrolling between screens is a bit finicky.

Here are my screen shots (all table scroll vertical except the bottom bar it is fixed):

Notice how big my icons are I can see!
