Ok, Im ready to ROOT. How long is the process?

Feels like you have a new phone now with no cost, and you actually make a call without lag, nice uhh ;)

I would like to second that "Thank YOU". This thread has been a huge help. I used this thread to root and flash Froyo to my Hero a few weeks back and it's like a whole new phone for me. I had thought about rooting for a while but I just didn't have the time to go through and figure it all out. Thank you so much to DonB and LBPHeretic.

If they still don't work, you will have to uninstall LP, and then re install it, the only way that worked for me a while back, but before you uninstall, make sure you have a another launcher as a backup or you won't be able to get to your screen properly

Yeah they are. I even unchecked them and rechecked them and restarted LP

To be honest, I would just use Z4Root. It is by far the easiest method to use, in my opinion.

Just download it here: 4shared.com - free file sharing and storage . Copy it to your microSD card from your computer. Download EStrongs File Explorer and install it from the Android Market and then use it to navigate to the Z4Root.apk file on your microSD card and install it. Then you just run Z4Root and choose permanent root. It may take a while to root and if it takes over fifteen minutes, just pull your battery, then reboot and try again.

Hey guys..I'm trying to root my wifes phone and I'm getting "There is a problem parsing the package" error..need help. This is my first time trying to root a phone. I followed the steps above and I opened the folder from es file manager. I have the debugging checked.
