Root [ROM] CyanogenMod 7.0.0 Stable 4/10/11

What version are you running? I thought that issue was fixed with Nightly 35 and should still be resolved on CM7 Final.

I'm running cm7 final. I had no problems with it on the nightly, but when I went to final it says that it is connected, but when I go to tether I can't get anything to pull up. When I turn the WIMAX off everything starts to work fine again.

I just flashed to cm7 and while I like it, I'm scared. I can't get the voicemail app to work, the total protection app to work, and honestly wonder if it was worth doing. What else is broken in this os? I backed up the os before installing cm7. Can I go back to stock at all? How would I do it?

Follow those steps and then download Super Private Conversation (SPC) from the market, it's free. SPC will allow you to block those 9016 texts that you get with a new voicemail and still allow the VVM to work.

My biggest beef with CM7 final is that I have had my Wimax get stuck at "turning off" multiple times. Since it's stuck on that, it won't connect to 3G either so I have to do a reboot to fix it. Ugh. I haven't been using 4G as much lately, but it's still annoying. I mainly use 4G to download ROM's. It takes forever on 3G.

I didn't notice this problem with RC4 and some of the previous nightlies. I don't get it. Anyone else having this issue?

I did a fresh install with nightly 39 (whatever the first nightly is after the stable CM7 release) and so far it's fantastic. 18+ hours of battery life on the first charge (even with the stock live wallpaper running) and everything seems to be working well ... although I haven't really tried 4G yet. Good stuff so far!

I was looking for a widget/shortcut for the built-in wireless hotspot in CM7 and found this workaround on the cyanogen forum - works for me and it's pretty handy!

After some digging around, I figured out how to create a shortcut to the hotspot toggle. If you long press the homescreen, and then choose "Custom Shortcut", then "Pick your activity", then "ADW Activities", then scroll down to and expand the "Settings" category. Find and select "Settings(.TetherSettings)". Then just choose your icon. This was the best I could come up with...hope it works!

Yeah I agree. It's frustrating, but I'm sure they'll work it out. It has come a long way in the past couple of months.

On the kernel in your sig, what's the difference between that kernel and savagedzen?

about the kernel, i havent the foggiest.... i just saw a thread that had some pros n cons listed and i felt the cons werent significant enough to worry about, so i tried em both out. the cfs sucked my battery dry, and the bfs is rockin this place!!! tons o juice left when i get home from work! its just nice to not hafta charge it after lunch cuz its at like 33% or something redic like that..... but between this and savagedzen, im not sure.... maybe ill try those out too lol

I love this ROM only problem is my google voice isn't ringing my phone anymore.

I know MIUI the trick is to select 3rd party calling option in the call settings but I don't see anything for this ROM.

*PLEASE HELP*

This is a make/break for me if not i'll be forced to go back to MIUI.

Thanks guys

Is anyone having problems with LauncherPro Plus not playing nice? Mine sometimes gets real laggy when switching between homescreens and opening the app drawer. And it force closes after every reboot.

At first I thought it might be the kernel. I was on SavageZen's latest, and switched to Tiamet. The issue seems to be happening less often, but it's still there.

Does ADW EX play nicer?

Congrats sir on self trouble shooting :). We would have gotten there but I don't know how fast people can move some people are more technically inclined. Enjoy your speed, those are decent and above average. We can go higher but it doesn't make sprint happy. You still may want to change your proxies to 0 and do mr. ed's fix again, you were just stuck in 1x. You may get over 800.

Hey guys. New to all this. Rooted and running Cyan7 and loving it. I too think im stuck in 1x instead of 3g. Im looking for any help to rid myself of this problem. LOL Any suggestions would be most appreciated. :D

No ADW EX gave me several problems almost like the one's you describe with launcher pro.

I went with a nightly build for my first attempt at this ROM (#37 or #39, I forget which off-hand). It seems to lock up on me from time to time (yes, I did delete all the required things to start off with), and also the wifi hot-spot marketplace app doesn't work with this ROM. Visual VM doesn't work either, but I've seen fixes for it (haven't got them to work yet, but only messed around with it for about 10 minutes).

I do, however, LOVE the lack of Sense UI. The homescreen tilts with the phone now, which was a small but well-thought out improvement over stock.

I wish there was a real "finished" build to move to. I'm new to ROMs, but I'm hoping to find something similar to this ROM with increased functionality. Specifically, the things I mentioned above; Visual VM, working Wifi-Fi app, and less Force-Close windows (or worse, total lock-up requireing a battery-pull).

Anybody else have issues with the phone being unresponsive when plugged in?

I was having the issues when I was running the nightlys and I'm still having issues on the Official CM7.

Only when it has been sitting on the charger all night. Sometimes the light wont go off even when unplugged and I have to restart.

Other than that this rom is great.

THe wifi hotspot does work. Use the built in program Menu->Settings->Wireless&networks->Tethering and Portable Hotspot. If it doesn't work you may need to reflash as apparently the marketplace app breaks the built in tether.

As for visual voicemail, this is my post from earlier in the thread.

Yeah, I just saw your other thread about the Wi-Fi right after I made this post. Checking the settings options right now. As for the VM thread, I think I read that one, just need to spend more time figuring out how to use Titanium Backup to get that .apk rocking and rolling.

EDIT: Working, and that is just TOO COOL!

blaaam is correct, buggy, random restarts, lockscreen lockups..... not good, went back to nightly 37

I haven't read the rest of the thread yet so you might have changed this. I saw that you were running Savage 1.6. I found that I was having random reboot issues with that kernel on the newer nightlies and the RC versions(didn't try the stable yet). I switched to Tiamat 3.3.7 and have had none of the same issues.
