Help Email notifcation problem

For some reason my HTC Desire has stopped notifying me of emails. I have checked the settings and nothing has changed - ie it is still set to check for new emails every 15 minutes, it is still set to make a sound and vibrate. I have to actually go into the emails app for it to refresh and pick up new emails.

It is a real pain! Any suggestions anyone?

I can only suggest clearing your email data under the manage app settings, then go back to your email and set up your account again, shouldn't take long then hopefully your email will spring back to life

Thanks for your suggestion, I've tried it, but still no joy...any other ideas?!?!

Do you happen to be on a different wifi network to normal? Not sure this helps, but at home on wifi & when using 3G, my google mail works fine. On the wifi network at work, I have to do as you have described above, open google mail then refresh.

I've often found email syncing can be a little flaky at times.
Especially gmail which I seem to have to regularly clear data to get it syncing again.
Didn't generally have as much of a problem with non push email, It got mail when asked but I like push email... when it works.

I have a similar problem occasionally. Sometimes the notification icon doesn't show at the top, although it still checks as scheduled and updates and the green "unread" icon appears next to the icon on the front screen.

I'm rooted and running LeeDroid 2.4

Thanks guys. Somehow the notifications have started working again! No idea why they stopped and then started again. Oh well, fingers crossed it'll stay this way!
