Root Masqed Crusader

Hi Guys,

I'm the developer of Masqed Crusader.

Ignoring the fact that you didn't pay for my app (oh well) I would just like to clear a couple of things up...

The main selling point of Masqed Crusader is that it uses dnsmasq to locally cache nameserver data, which increases browsing speed over time. The ad-blocking (which you can now disable) and the use of Google DNS (which you can now change to OpenDNS) are both secondary features, which are built into some ROMS but not most.

Thank for trying Masqed Crusader... maybe consider buying it :p

One person said they didn't buy it. Our devs already put the functionality into custom ROMs themselves.

Firstly, your ROMs might have built in ad-blocking and be set to use Google DNS, however, they most likely do NOT use DNSMASQ to locally cache nameserver data, which, as I said, was the main selling point of my app.

Secondly, how would you feel if you spent hundreds of hours programming an app, only to have people steal it? It's a little frustrating, yet, I feel I was rather kind in my response.

Frank, i'm sure you understand piracy is a risk any developer runs when publishing their programs. That being said, most of us are willing to pay for apps that we like or we seek free alternatives.

I for one, do not pirate software. I tend to stick to free and open source. I have paid for apps though. 3 specifically, because i either like what features the paid version has, or i feel the developer shoulf receive my support.

I am not using your software paid or otherwise. But, i appreciate your development. For our androids to be useful at all we need good programs. Yours sounds like it has merit. You certainly deserve to compensated for allowing others to use your intellectual property.

You're already in a thread for 'rooters' which is a topic of debate as to whether ot not it is legal or ethical. So you are dealing with a much smaller sub-group of users. Just remember that.

Keep developing their are many of us who appreciate it. If i get another phone that does not have the features built in or a custom ROM with the options, i will certainly look more seriously into purchasing you app. Though, from my perspective, $5 is a hard sell. I would be more interested at a lower price point, for what it is worth.

That was my point, only one person said they pirated your app, which is unfortunate, but your first post made it seem like everyone in this thread along with the devs were stealing your ideas/code/app. I guess that I read it incorrectly.

Dear Mr dev,
I just downloaded this app on my thunderbolt (the trial). After starting it none of my http web connections worked. (no webpage, but other data seemed to work). Turning the app back off fixed it.

Oh and I really like how funny it is! "retreating to the shadows" lol

I might not reply to this thread so feel free to PM or email me for more information.

I have been having a lot of trouble with this app on the Thunderbolt... I will definitely let you know (via pm) if I find a fix.

Thanks for trying Masqed Crusader! (I'm glad you liked my superhero humor)

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off like that... I should have directed my response more toward the original poster who actually did pirate my app. :)
