Mobile Defense!

That's probably it. I have Premium SMS blocked on my acct. That's why it's not coming through I bet.

You asked about Mobile Defense and he replied about WaveSecure (which I understand is overseas)

The text from Mobile Defense should come through rather quickly. I do not know why you are not receiving it but I wanted to point out that you two were discussing two different programs.

Does it constantly drain your battery though? anyone whose had it for a while notice a decrease in battery at all? Just wondering.. I haven't noticed anything much yet, but I've only had it for a few hours..

And regarding that story with the park... WOW!!!:eek::eek:

No, it doesn't use the GPS unless you are tracking the phone. Other than that is is inactive.

I sadly had to uninstall Mobile Defense. It worked great for a week, and then it started having multiple pop-ups saying that the app wasn't responding and it would force close. I would get 3-5 of these back to back and then the phone would lose cell signal and slow down greatly and need a battery removal to restart. This happened multiple times. Anyone else have this issue and know of any resolution? Would love to have Mobile defense back on but this issue makes it a no-go.

You should totally email the devs. I've heard they are super responsive. Also, it might be that another one of your apps isn't playing nice with MD.

Good luck!

Heh, sorry for the spam posts, but I have an actual question now.

I logged onto MD website and tested the Pattern Lock activation. It worked, but any combination input will unlock the phone? Am I doing something wrong?

I also had this issue and think it should be addressed. what you need to do for it to work properly is set the pattern lock manually on your phone and save your pattern. never take the pattern lock off of your phone manually...if you want to disable/enable it, only do it through the mobile defense website. It should work that way but it's a bit of a hassle.

GTRacerH, the devs mention exactly what you just wrote. Activate the pattern lock and then use the site to lock/unlock. Out of curiosity, how come some users wouldn't want a pattern lock activated? It's not a lot more work than sliding the lock, is it? I have noticed that you can't silence notification from the lock screen if you are using the pattern lock, though.

Depends on the pattern.

Thanks, I wasn't aware of that. However I never received the text. I tried resending it 5 times from the website, I checked to make sure they had my mobile number correct, I read through their forum a bit, had my wife send me some texts to make sure I was receiving texts, it just kept saying awaiting phone activation. I finally had to go to work and gave up on it. I might try again today.

Exactly, I think that 'staying connected' is why some users are noticing their batteries running out of juice sooner than usual. As Juneau said, only connect to your device when you want to track it....."or when you are testing it". I'm well past the testing it phase; I played with it for an hour when I first got it. Just too awesome a software product.

Just downloaded it. Very cool, but far from perfect. I was able to get around the lock pattern. I don't' know exactly how I did. Hit the back key maybe? The web site is also unable to relock the phone sometimes. After using the program, I could not get the locking feature disabled on the phone until I put a new pattern in, and then I could disable it. I also get seem to block the text message from Mobiledefense from popping up. I added them to my contact, but I can't find a way to block them.

I think wavesecure actually deletes the text it sends because I can't find it anywhere. The only downside is that when WaveSecure sends you a text message you're charged an international text message fee if you're located anywhere outside of Singapore.

Hi soulesschild,
We've made tweaks and there should be no international text charges for WaveSecure users in the US.

Also, we learnt that UK users do get charged for international text messages too. Hence, we're setting up our SMS gateway in the UK. Anyone keen to help us with testing, please contact me.

Thank you,
