Atrix impressions vs Inspire

What I don't understand is why are you atrix guys tolling the inspire forum

Did you misread the title of this thread?

also, that is a pretty funny statement coming from you since you write nonstop on atrix threads.

I do have an atrix but am really trying to decide on whether or not to try the inspire but i just cannot get past all the fanboy inspire stuff. you were knocking the atrix before it even came out. anyone with half a brain is dismissing all of your input because it is not objective at all since you have posted over 3000 times in 2.5 months with all of your posts knocking the atrix and boasting the inspire. If you don't like the atrix then leave it alone, don't talk about. let the people who do like it or want info about it discuss it without having to hear why you think a single core phone is better than a dual core phone.

I know it all comes down to personal preference and I should make the choice for myself. I may just have to go to best buy and check out their demo inspire. just throwing it out there, i haven't had any issues with the atrix, screen is great, no lag and great download and upload speeds. i ditched my craptivate (i dug the phone but was very irritated with the froyo and gps stuff) and was able to download about 75 apps in a very short time on my atrix. it is def faster than the samsung.:p

I haven't been in atrix threads since the inspire came out. Once I chose my phone I don't look at the other threads. I haven't gone there at all. I go here and ATT threads that's it. I don't try and agitate

I got an Atrix three weeks ago. It had a bum charger and life so AT&T replaced it. In the store I fell in love with the Inspire though. I came to Atrix from Iphone.

What I love about the Atrix is just the typing swype, but I think that's just all Androids. I agree with this user that the Atrix has a small screen. It does a lot, and it's incredible, but to take the pun at hand, it does not Inspire me. It feels somehow needlessly complicated and, dare I say, klunky? Inspire, maybe just because of the larger screen, maybe the some other reason, didn't.

This review confirms my decision to get the Inspire. I was almost going to go back to the iPhone. But I just hate apple. And the Inspire is pretty at the screen is bigger for my fat fingers and the camera is better at taking photos of my cute kids.

But what to do with the Atrix otter box???

IMO the Inspire is the better phone. I know its been posted before but I just want to add to it. Even if the Inspire was priced the same as the Atrix I would choose the Inspire.

I can't stress how much that software is what makes a phone, not hardware. The software on the Atrix is pure balls. Motoblur is an abomination. You HAVE TO create a motoblur account as soon as you first boot up the phone when you get it, no way around it. Scrolling from screen to screen is choppy, the Sense like preview is choppy, live wallpapers are choppy. Even using Launcher Pro, ADW, Go Launcher, and Zeam are mysteriously choppy on the atrix. Don't even think about putting live wallpaper on any of those 3rd party launchers either, it's choppier than blur with a live wallpaper. I honestly believe Motorola made their software so bad that you almost have to use Blur because 3rd party launchers are choppy on it.

Then you have the camera app, the pinch to zoom in the gallery on my old Droid Eris puts the Atrix to shame, I can't believe this phone is a dual core phone, the pinch to zoom is so laggy and choppy I had to install a gallery app from the marketplace.

You wanna add contacts from gmail, it will also load up all the contacts you have under "Other Contacts" will show up as well. Basically anyone I sent an email to on my gmail account even if it was only once, came up under my contacts on my atrix.

Battery life, for a 1930mAH battery, it sucks. With almost 100% similar settings on my Inspire, I get better life on my Inspire. I can get a day on my Inspire, I can't on my Atrix. Even with my brightness at 0% on my Atrix I get worse life on it.

I'm not trying to troll the Atrix because we are on the inspire forum, I'm just providing another point of view on both phones because I'm sure some people are undecided between the two. The only thing the Atrix has going for it is the screen, its really bright at 0%. My Inspire does everything the Atrix does performance wise and better in a lot of areas Oh wait I forgot, you can delete some ATT bloat on the Atrix thats the only other benefit. Now sure you can root the Atrix and get rid of the blur crap, but not everyone roots.

I've never owned a phone so crippled by the software behind it like the Atrix. You look at the specs and this phone should give you an instant erection, but once you use it, you go softer than an 80yr dude that ran out of Viagra.

Sounds like you Atrix had some problem. My Atrix runs smooth as silk and the battery life has been fantastic.

I had the exact same experience with the atrix..i wanted to love it because of the whole dual core hype and all..once i got it i was very disappointed. laggy overall, laggy pinch to zoom, rebooted, battery just plain sucks, camera was slow and pics werent all that good, and the screen sucked too..very washed out..so i got another atrix and same exact thing..so i switched to a 3rd atrix and guess what...same bs..i finally tried the inspire and i have none of the problems mentioned above..its quick and the battery lasts me10-12 hrs easy.

I too have both, though its looking like the Atrix is heading to craigslist. I quite like the Atrix, to be honest, especially after installing GingerBlur (with launcher pro)...but the screen, as vibrant as it is, felt too cramped for my fat fingers while typing. And my (rooted with GingerBeast) Inspire seems to keep up fairly well as far as speed is concerned.

I'll miss a few features of the Atrix (dual core, front facing camera, easier to pocket) but I can't justify keeping it while my Inspire is doing just as well (save for battery life...ugh) and has more screen real estate to boot....
