Like someone else said in another thread, I tend to build from scratch rather than load up a really old NANDroid.

But I do keep old ones with significance, like right after I first rooted on 2.1, right after I got the froyo upgrade stable, and the latest equivalent of OTA. That's 3.

Then I have one called "current" which is self explanatory, and one more, which is usually the ROM I'm testing out. I end up deleting it when I decide it's not a keeper.

Pft, I don't make nandroid backups. I like to live dangerously. Just kidding. I have about 6 right now, which is more than usual.

I think a much more enlightening poll question would be:

"If it weren't for your NANDroid backup(s), how many times would your phone be permanently bricked?

For most of us, I think that number would be too high to recall :)

And whenever I start tinkering with custom ROMs, I take off my otterbox case. Cause I know I'm going to bootloop/crash it at some point and will need to pull the battery.

I guess it's too much to ask for a hardware reset, like power + vol-down anytime during the phone's operation...

I'm pretty sure your phone can only be permanently bricked once, and if that's the case, a nandroid isn't going to help you :p. But I know what you meant :).

I try to keep it under 4 on my card and really only keep 2 hanging around.

1. as a base rom install and basic settings and apps. just so can go back to square 1 if i decided I don't like what I flashed over.

2. my current custom set up for themes, kernals or whatever just in case something crashes.

if it goes higher then those 2 its because i'm testing things out.

I keep my 1st stock and my most current rom. Thats all I think I need really. I used to save em all to my pc, but after a couple months I noticed I never used the old ones any more. So I quit putting all those nandroids on my pc, just a copy of the most recent.

If I try arom and want to play a little more I'll keep it on my sd for a couple days, then delete once playtime is over. ;)
