Root The Thunderbolt ROM List (Updated 11/9)

just thot id say that i like the WIP progress section :) i tried the sensation port, and ive played with tridents nightlys. i personally dont care for MIUI,so i left it alone.

chevyno1's GB mentioned above would fit in there, unless youre wanting to keep your links xda-related :)

Have you tried Chevy's ROM yet? If it is functional at all, I'd like to flash it. Have you found a link?

Edit: Never mind... reread your post above and saw the link. Looked through the post, and no surprise - no data yet. I'm tempted to download just to play with it though.

oops... i just realized the link above takes you to page 18  *smacks forehead*

here is page 1,where the download link is: Stock TB ROM has been built - need volunteers!! - Droid Forum - Verizon Droid & the Motorola Droid Forum

it actually is really smooth and runs very well. it would be daily driver status if things worked ;) you can make calls but cant hear the person your calling, and trying to turn on wifi sends it into a continious boot loop. no data yet.

but its worth flash to play with for a bit,for sure. gave me hope that theres light at the end of the AOSP tunnel :D

i wish i understood any of this lmfao im on my second android phone and never got into rooting etc and now i want to because my phone keeps lagging bad and is getting slow and i hate most the apps on here but i have no clue what most of this is

I'd suggest reading THIS thread, and every other thread involving root you can find. It's not for everyone and it's something that shouldn't be taken lightly.

Just put Perfect Storm 1.5 on last night. So far so good. Battery life isn't as god ask stock, but I think I just need to let the new OS become acclimated with the battery, maybe reset battery stats in CWR. I had one random reboot, but I was messing with the wrong toggle repeatedly so I probably deserved it.

Other than those events, it is extremely fast. Trying to disable the volume button wake.

I would think that has to do with this

Cleaned up the OP and removed most of the unsupported ROMs and Kernels. Updated to include a couple new Kernels and ROMs including new AOSP offering from Liquid. It's pretty impressive, been running it all evening.

Cheers

That is a very old rom and is not being developed, not to mention the official OTA is out there and rooted if you want stock, you will just need to uninstall the bloat via titanium.

It's a rooted stock rom, not anything that is 'supported' ... but okay.

[ROM] Official 1.70.605.0 MR2 OTA Deodexed Rooted Busybox Mirrors Added :D - xda-developers

There is the most recent OTA stock rom rooted. Again there is no development going on with these roms so I wouldn't say they are being supported any further. Generally if someone wants the stock rom they will get it and nothing further is needed compared to a custom rom where a dev is releasing updates and changing features actively.

can i click on one of the links from my thunderbolt and download the rom directly on my thunderbolt and then install it with rom manager?

That's how I've been flashing my ROMs. But after you reset and format your data/system, when you go to install the zip it will be under SD card/downoad.
But yeah that's how I do mine. but some ROMs like liquid thunderbread (which I'm currently running) have to be downloaded onto your PC and then copied to your SD card.

This forum is allllot better IMO : thunderboltforums.com Their rescue squad gets back to you and helps you so much faster than this board...this one's a joke. I posted a help question on here like 2 weeks ago and haven't gotten a response yet!
