Help with Beautiful Widget Skin app PLEASE!!!

I purchased an Android X by Motorola last week. So far, I love the phone! BTW, I know extremely little when it comes to gadgets so please try to explain in simple terms. Yesterday I purchased and downloaded the Beautiful Widgets App. I went through several screens, picking out weather, skin, battery etc. When I was all done, I hit my little 'home screen' key at the bottom of the phone, thinking I was going to have this great looking custom screen with time, weather...etc. But is was the same old original screen. I for the life of my cannot get any of the setting I chose to pop up on the screen. What am I doing wrong? I could care less about losing the $3 for the app, I just want a cool looking screen. you need to add those things as widgets.

long press the screen, and you should get an option for adding things.
im sure theres another button to add stuff too, but im on an EVO so im not sure of the X layout.

Thanks skull but I just tried and I couldn't do it. I have picked out skins for the following: super clock, weather, battery, home, & toggle. Once I picked my selection for each, it then showed a screen with the 'standard' screen and just below it - it would show the screen I had selected with the word 'current' under it. This is the case for each of the above mentioned skins. How do I get them to be widgets? I pressed down and held it and it just gives me the option to delete or apply....I have apply checked. ?????????
