Thanks for all the replies! Have decided on redux in the end and will flash later.
Does anyone no of an app that allows you to tag Facebook pictures ? One of the few features I actually use on sense ?

Just had a look at Redux.
Go doesn't allow me to use any Go widgets (I need the contacts one.)
Can't get the market to sync properly and I prefer the Orange on GV to the green (It can be themed but I have an intense hatred for the colour green

)

I'm a bit meh tbh, I'm sure battery life is good but I found GV good enough and a nicer place to be so decided to restore my GV backup.

Also I liked the quiet hours in the CM settings in GV.

I use tasker for quiet hours but apps such as shhh autosilencer do the job just as well.

I don't use go so that's a q for xda

Its ported from the honeybread theme chooser apk. You can reflash the rom after to get rid, but just want to find as many errors as possible

I hope im down to my last issue, which is the unlock icon / slider alignment on teh lock screen. but you never know without testers if there is anything else.

Beta 4. Fixed lockscreen. Tried fixing the icon in settings with image adjustment but it will not re-align. Not sure whats going on there, but may be partly rom related

ReDux would be my number 1 AOSP, ive been trying the latest Cyanogen (7.0.2.1) man the battery has been crazy good so far im at 7h 41m and i mat 93%! sent a few emails and 2 calls, bit of mucking around on the net not much though but 93% crazy... Thats using the vork 720p kernel, latest radio and CM7 Hboot.

I gave Redux another go.
Battery life does seem very good, I doubt it's much better than GV tbh.
I miss adfree though so for now going back to GV2.1 again

But still Redux is good and will consider it as a fall back in the future.

Never managed to get it to work.
The one that is downloaded from Villian setup in GV works in GV though.
Also I miss my theme, UOT Kitchen seems to crap out whenever I try and create a Redux 1.2 theme.
Still like I said I'm not leaving Redux because I don't like it, I just like GV a little more.
If after a fresh test I find the battery was worse than I remembered from yesterday in GV I might go back.

if you try to add uot kitchen stuff to themed redux it shows as crap, you need redux unthemed version.
anyways enjoy with GV

Yes that was on unthemed Redux, the kitchen threw up an error on every theme I made.

Hmmm Just restored my GV backup and it was laggy.
Not sure why - I don't remember it being that laggy when I was running it yesterday.

Sigh... try Redux again then, if the lag goes away I'll probably stay with Redux.
Like a woman buying shoes - I just can't get enough of flashing ROMs

EDIT:
Reflashed Redux over the top of my GV setup and no lag on homescreen transistions.

Strange never noticed it that bad before - maybe I've been spoiled by Redux

I did find that Pure calender widget is nasty for lag so gone over to Cal widget and that seems to have helped quite a bit as well.
If only adfree worked :/

Pure grid calendar works fine for me. Not sure about pure calendar itself.

Adfree works. You seem to have a few problems with this between roms. please explain exactly what the problem with adfree is for you? No offense, but its probably user error

I had it working on mine with 1.1.2 dont know why it wouldnt work now??

It works fine.

Things you need to remember about adfree.

1) by default it is set to update the hosts file which is /system/etc/hosts. It cannot modify this file without S-off so it wont work.

2) if you are updating /system/etc/hosts (s-off), then whenever you flash a rom, you replace the hosts file, so adfree needs to redownload hosts and modify

3) If you are S-on, you need to use the symlink to /data/data so the hosts file can be put here instead.

4) If you do any of the above, apps that are already open will not reflect changes as they have already loaded adverts up.

5) If you haven't got the latest version of adfree from the market (old version or downloaded elsewhere) then download it from the market fresh and see points 1-4

What are you trying to say?

I download it, update host file, reboot.
Still have ads.

Not sure where I could go wrong with it.
