official Inc2 Announcement by VZW....= lame

i think "announcement" is a good term to use. But yeah not Launch...this really confuses me. I want to see some awesome Marketing campaigning like we did last year with the Inc1 and the DroidX...

Have been thinking about this too. Answer has to be money.

How have the other "2.0" version phones been introduced?

Also appears they are pushing the 4gLTE stuff and don't want sales of the DInc2 (or any other 3g phone) to cannibalize them.

Just sayin'.

I think you are right. The Droid marketing champion has lost it's edge lately and I think their LTE network has become their baby.

When was the last time Verizon held a press conference to launch a phone anyway?

When you really think about it, the low key launch of this phone makes sense.

Let's face it, it's not really trumping the Inc 1's specs in most terms, this is more just a revamped Incredible with nice add-ons for people who want that type of phone. I see this phone as just being the new continuation of the original rather than something that comes out to absolutely wow you.
If it were 4G I think that would really take a bite out of the TB's sales (with the only real difference between the two being .3" screen size), HTC probably wanted to vary the phones enough so that they would both sell decently.

It is all about marketing, and I would be willing to bet that Motorola had a better co-op marketing program then HTC does. That means for every dollar Verizon spends, Motorola will match it, or something similar. I am pretty sure that Apple does the same type of program, particularly since you are able to purchase their phones in their stores.
If people were paying attention, I would think that the incredible would have outsold the Droid by at least 2 to 1, because it is just a superior phone. At least that is my opinion.
