So for some reason my phones has been stuck on 1x for a few hours! Took the battery out like 3 times, and still reverts back to 1x. No 3G or 4G...WTF! Haven't had any issues with my phone coneccting to the network, or any problems as a whole in a few weeks. So I'm wondering if this is a device issue, or VZW messing around with the network here in NYC...Anyone in NYC seeing this?

You would think they would be able to push a message out to the users if it was just a simple network upgrade...
They push enough messages saying I have to pay my f*cking bill.

Hahahahahaha...Or when they send u a replacement phone! I start getting messages before I even receive the phone that I'll be charged upwards of $500 if it's not returned within 10 days. Classic Verizon! Like someone said, this is either a botched plan going as planned or it's a sign of things to come with 4G going DOWNNNN out of nowhere from time to time.

Damn it, I wish I would of read this thread first.

I live in Rome, GA and my Thunderbolt also went from 3G to 1x around 1:15AM EST. I thought it might of been my fault as I have used the LTE-OFF app to force 1x connections in the past (the area I live in is rural and only offers 1x, but will lose connection completely if it tries searching for 3G). I had read before that certain users of the app had radio problems, so I presumed that I was now facing that same problem.

I rebooted three times, switched the radio signal default though the regular digit dialing, then tried forcing 3G only (which only shows three bars without any 3G/1x signal beside it).

Even though I haven't rooted or flashed a ROM, I know of people who have and lost their 4G and had to flash-back. So I figured I would do a factory reset (oh...the drudgery) and it still did not fix the problem.

It figures that it would happen when Verizon's call center isn't open, but then again if this was intentional, they probably did it when peak time wasn't high.

I'm very frustrated, as we could of at least received a text message to inform us...some of us (me) work third shift and use our phones a lot. I really do hope it is a Verizon issue none-the-less I would hate to have to go through the hassle of dealing with Verizon to help fix my Thunderbolt, as I didn't buy the insurance and would have to go through HTC's warranty policy.

Maybe if we all complain, we can get a $20 credit for this headache. If they would of warned us, I would of just accepted "it happens", but for it to happen across multiple states, it had to be intentional.

After a massive pain in the ass trying to get a person at VZW at night, I spoke to a guy. He said there a is rather large 3/4G outage and it is being addressed at this moment. Time until it's rectified is unknown, he was also under the impression that this wasn't an on purpose thing, but he's not certain.

He also said that there have been many calls this evening.

I guess rather large could mean the US.

How'd you manage to get a person on the phone at this hour? lol
