Root [UPDATED 28/12 - NEW INSTALLER] CyanogenMod 7/Android 2.3.4 Is avaliable for GT540!

That's the one that I tried but every time I click Slow Download it gives me this error
Download Error

Free users may only download 1 file at a time.

I haven't download any from FileSonic today.

Anyways, i manage to download the file from Nirob's post.

I used the Fixed Fastboot link. Thanks anyway Man!

Aha, I've had that happen to me sometimes and then the following day it works as though nothing happened. It sometimes seems to think you are already downloading a file. Sorry about that.

Interestingly I was running a full scan and in the KDZ updater Europe Open.zip Symantec discovered Trojan.Gen.2 it has created copies in six locations including z4root.1.2.0.apk and res/raw/rageagainstthecage - Targeted only the folder that I'd created for uploading 2.3.

I've got three kids so it could have been introduced by them but I would be interested if anyone else got the same results

There's nothing wrong with it, virus scanners pick it up because it's a Linux exploit, which it is, it roots the phone which is exploiting. It's safe, .apk files can't harm PC's anyways

ok thanks - funny it's only just found it (bit anal on the scans etc. with three kids who are geeks ! or at least think they know everything)

you would be amazed at what they download

Cheers

Yeah I know what you mean, I have a 7 year old brother, who learned a lot from me, but not enough and still thinks he knows everything haha

I was using SoftMod 1.8 when i noticed that there was a SwiftDroid 2.0 out. I installed that with no problems, although i miss the illegal, anti-christ, un-supporting black market app that is app planet :p. Could ya please link me to such an evil app?

By the way im wary of viruses and apps collecting all of my credit card details. Is app planet crawling with viruses and things to get you?

Thanks.

That's right but for recovery you just type the name of the recovery.img file, so if the name was pop.img then you would type in fastboot flash recovery pop.img. You should just flash via recovery it's much easier.

Hey? The version of recovery i use doesn't allow typing? Only volume Up, down, anwsercall and end call? Am i using a crappy out-dated version of recovery? If so can someone please link me to the latest version, and also how would i install this.

Hmm I'm not too sure about those services that give you paid apps for free for a fixed price.. But if you're weary, get Lookout security from the Market

What d'you mean typing? You navigate through recovery using the vol up and down keys using call to select and power to go back. The latest version is 3.0.2.7, you can get it here. How to install here

Hi all,

So first of all which version are you using, the newer versions v1.8 (camera working), v1.9 (camera working but very buggy) v2.0M2 (not full version but camera also works pretty good). If you have a lower version try to flash one of these versions by the ClockworkMod Recovery.
This should be done by putting the zip file you downloaded from this link:
SwiftDroid – SwiftDroid Blog (choose the recovery one) and then boot your device in recovery. Choose the install zip from sd and select yes. Let it update takes about 5 mins and then let reboot, normally takes also about 5 mins on the CyanogenMod boot logo.

Best of luck for your camera to work =)

I've tried to repair the message error com.android.camera by installing SwiftDroid v2.0 M1 – Recovery and SwiftDroid v2.0 M2 – Recovery.

It still doesn't work. But it's not the same message that appears. Now I have Impossible to establish a connection with the camera. I don't know why and I don't know what to do...
[The button on the side for activate the camera doesn't work I have a little vibration but nothing happens. The only way to activate it is by using the shortcut. But that's not a problem for me.] I've installed for the second time buttonfix1.5, nothing better.

Thanks for helping. :)
