I've been following this phone since its been announced and I can't believe how little its being talked about. Anyone hear anything about a release date? Also i was wondering does anyone know if this is gonna have the same camera sensor as as the Galaxy SII? Its been getting good reviews in that area and it would be nice if they were the same. Personally I can deal without the dual core processor in exchange for the bigger screen I just hope the camera's the same. Thanks in advance for any info anyone may have.

Its in the May 15th ad. $178.88 at Wal-Mart.

I have cash in hand and I'm a buyer :)

I don't care about anything other than that big beautiful display.

By the way, I have been in the UK on business, today I had an S2 in hand and it's really terrific. Yet that said, the display doesn't look any different that the one on my Nexus S. A bit disappointing.

They claim 18% less drain on the battery which would be worth it.

I do not own and have never owned a cell phone except for my job cell phone. My wife has the iPhone and it is pretty cool but I want the android OS for sure. Problem for me is AT&T has crappy phones to choose from. I would love the Galaxy S2 or the Epic but not available for AT&T.....Figures. A big sell for me is the dual camera and the DLNA option to use with Twonky. Unsure why a 2.2 OS is being used since the 2.3 and quad's are coming into the realm pretty quickly.

I am def going to wait for this one....I hope it is worth it.

It looks like AT&T and Samsung are finally going to cough up the goods on the Samsung Infuse 4G, a phone that was originally announced back at CES and was just featured as one of our five best Android smartphones arriving this summer.
According to This is My Next, today’s Samsung event will in fact be an announcement regarding the Infuse 4G and if intel from earlier today is accurate, we should see a launch occur a week from today on May 12th. Not surprising considering we had heard it would launch in May back in April.

Samsung Infuse 4G

When it does arrive, it looks like AT&T will be offering this 4.5-inch bad boy up for $199, likely on a new two year contract.
The Infuse 4G is certainly a phone that AT&T customers should take a look at, especially those that love enormous displays. It features a massive 4.5-inch Super AMOLED Plus display (480 x 800), a 1.2GHz Hummingbird processor, 16GB of on board storage,an 8MP rear camera with LED flash and auto-focus, a1.3MP front facing camera, and a 1750 mAh LiIon battery.
Anyone been holding out for this device? Did you get scared off by the fact that the Samsung Galaxy S II just went through the FCC with AT&T bands?

Nope

Gotta have em both.... am I an addict or what?

And for the record, I've had NOTHING but good luck with Samsung.

My original Galaxy S is still one of my favs.

But then again, so is my Evo, Incredible, Droid X, ... well you get the idea :)

Costco will have it for $199.99 w/ 2yr. contract. It is in the coupon book that starts May 12th-June 5th for $30.00 off. Costco usually offers additional accessories included in that price i.e. white Fascinate comes with car dash mount and factory car charger. Expect Costco to respect May 15th launch date though.....? New activations probably free also. I plan on waiting for Samsung's May 24th probable announcement of US release of Galaxy S2 to decide. What happened to 1 GB of RAM?

Thanks for the info. I got an Atrix at Costco about 2 months ago. I really like the phone, and was settling in with it. However, on Mother's Day, we were trying to send video messages to relatives and discovered that even with the person standing right in front of you while taking the video, on playback, you can just barely hear them - even with the playback volume turned all the way up. Other people have raved about the great audio they are getting with their Atrix videos, so - after much research and testing - I think it's something defective in my unit. Costco lets you exchange up until 90 days and I talked to one person there who said I could just bring mine back and get a new unit. However now, with the Infuse coming out, I'm considering the Infuse, instead.

A good quality camera is a big factor for me. I don't care about the number of megapixels as much as the quality of the photos. The Atrix seems to have good video, but I'm not very impressed with the quality of the photos. I think that the Infuse is supposed to have better quality photos.

Although I'm sure I'll like looking at the bigger screen on the Infuse, I'm worried about fitting it in my jeans pocket and sitting down.

Since the Atrix was so new, it did take a several weeks and two software updates before they got everything working as it should. Do you think that will be the case with the Infuse, as well, or do you think it will be ready to go?
