I just rebooted my phone (via adb) because I was locked out - no lock screen display would come up. Even more strange was that if I long-pressed the power button, sometimes the reboot/airplane/silent_mode popup would appear, and at other times, a "fuzzed out" image that I had previously been looking at in my Gmail app would appear.
A bug in surface_flinger maybe?
Give condemned cm7 a try.
Also downloaded BobClockD3. I don't like it and wish to uninstall it but I don't see it in my app list to uninstall. Do I need to use App manager/
The prior version had a clock widger that appeared as text, where can I get that widget?
Downloaded 3.1.

what's up guys...
I just 'upgraded' to my first droid phone, the HTC Eric. I'm eligible for an upgrade from my Samsung Rogue, but waiting for a phone I really want to get to use the upgrade discount. Bought this for $18, haha, off my roommate.
I got this phone yesterday and was able to root and install this ROM on it, and I gotta say I love all the things this phone can do.
I have a couple questions on how to save the apps/ROM settings/etc when upgrading to a new version of the ROM (if one comes out). Or will the saved apps/settings translate to different ROMs I install?
I have Titanium backup and did a full backup of sys and user apps, but do I only need to do user apps? I also backed up the LauncherPro settings.
I'm also having the softkey lights not showing up. They showed up for a minute with auto-dim on, then stopped.
Thanks guys.

Welcome!
For a new version of the same ROM, you can *usually* flash over without wiping data first, preserving all of you settings and data (you do need to flash gapps each time, though.) I would still Nandroid backup first. For going to a different ROM, even one of the same Android version, even one with the same framework (i.e., CyanogenMod 7), I'd do a data wipe and not try to restore system data. If you do a Nandroid backup before the restore of system data, though, you can always go back.
You can surely do both. Like I said, a good Nandroid backup is your very best friend. It sure doesn't hurt to try.
I regularly restore user apps and data with TiBu, but rarely system data. Sometimes I do when I am feeling particularly lazy, though.
I haven't run GSB in a while, but I believe that is a known issue with the latest release.
Thanks for the quick response. So is this right...
Nandriod is basically a full backup to keep in case you screw something up completely again, just wipe everything and use this backup to restore? I unfortunetly didn't backup the stock 1.5 on my phone before I put CM7 on it, but it looks readily available on the net.
TiBu is used to saved user apps/settings and mail/contacts, but not sys data,
and use this to restore your cell whenever you put a new/different ROM on. But shouldn't have to do this if I stay with CM, just flash the new build/gapps.

I'm guessing there's no way to get rid of apps from your app drawer? Things such as DSP Manager that I'll probably never use...
Do any of you guys get annoyed with the "This feature is only available to LaundryPro Plus users" on the homescreen?
Cool, will give it a spin tonight.

Do any of you guys get annoyed with the "This feature is only available to LauncherPro Plus users" on the homescreen? I get this a lot when tryingto pull down the notification bar because I have a clock widget at the very top of my screen, so the widget will get highlighted sometimes and any button I press home/back/etc to unselect it, it will say I need to upgrade to do that when all I want to do is unselect it. I might look into buying the upgrade or getting ADW EX just to have it for the future.
You can hide apps in the app drawer with LauncherPro (no plus necessary). Menu>Preferences>General Settings>Hidden Apps
Just put a check next to any apps you don't want to appear in the app drawer.
This phone doesn't like batteries... gets down to 30-40% after a day of work and barely on it during work. I just turned off Wifi/GPS/Mobile data for hte time being. This phone is 1.5 yrs old and I just purchased a OEM battery for the Eris for $5. I'm hoping the battery is just nearing it's end and a new battery will carry a better charge.

It's true that 18 months is a long time for a battery.
You may want to try recalibrating the battery, though. Install this app, wait to the charge hits 100%, and hit the recalibrate button. It may be that your battery use stats are out of whack for the Cyanogen framework.
