Accessories Nexus s car and desk top dock

Hello all,

This is my first post on Android Fourms. (go easy on me)

I just switched from the Motorola Milestone (Droid) to the Nexus s.
The one feature I miss is the car dock and it's ability to auto switch into car mode when docked. As well with the desk top dock, it would auto switch into Alarm clock mode.

Is there any way to make this happen with the Nexus S?
Can something be done with NFC?

I have seen the Samsung dock but it is apparently on back order and has been for a long time from what i have read.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I got this universal car mount from Amazon a few weeks ago and love it!

It has one of the best suction mounts I've ever used. The thing I like most is that I can mount my nexus s in it without taking my TPU amzer case off of my phone. It has two clamp like arms that will adjust to almost any size phone, with or without a skin or case.

When you dock the phone in your car does it automatically switch to car mode like the Droid (milestone) does?

Hope you find something you like.

There's an app called "Car Home Ultra" which is free for a 30 day trial period in the "Market". It's significantly better than the native "Car Mode" on the Nexus. It's free try it, you may like it. It's also very customizable and has gotten very strong reviews.

I found this App as a solution to my problem but it would not let me down load it because of the country i live in.

doesn't that go against the whole point of Google and the Nexus S.

Samsung make a dock that is available on the American web site but not on the Canadian site... What gives???

Use Tasker, there is a direct download from the website you so can get it no matter what country you live in

Some people say it is not easy to use. I have found it pretty easy. The great thing is one you get the profile set up you can "set and forget" If you need help setting up a profile there are a couple great threads on here, just ask

Mine launches the car dock when I am charging and headphones are connected at the same time in one car, and when bluetooth is connected in the other.
