Nexus S 4G for sale now!!!!!!!

I just picked up my Nexus S 4G at my local Sprint Store. They are not promoting it but it is for sale. Just ask, they are allowed to sell them early. Picked mine up in Glenview, IL. Great Phone and no need to wait until Sunday! At work now but I will post a video afterwards. Good Luck and enjoy the phone its fantastic!

Thats great news...someone over on XDA Forums got theirs yesterday. He posted pics and everything. I ordered mine from bestbuy online. But I'm gonna go to my local sprint store this evening and see if I can buy one. If they let me, then I'm gonna come home and cancel my Bestbuy order.

Quentyn from Phandroid.com here. Wondering how you were able to get into a Sprint store when it doesn't open until 10am. Do you have any proof that the Nexus S is being sold early? (Like a picture of the device in your possession?) I don't mean to sound overly skeptical, I just want to make sure I can believe the story before I publish.

My local Sprint store opens at 9am, maybe his does as well?

On the other hand, I just talked to someone at my Sprint store, and they said that they can't sell it until the 8th

My store in Kansas City is selling them today! Just called the store. Going to pick one up now. Of course they have a wait list they attend to first. They are slipping me one.

Checked with Sprint Corporate and they said that his phone was NOT purchased legally, since the street date is May 8 and they are NOT allowed to sell the phones until then. The same applies to Best Buy and other vendors who carry the phone. I was told they would welcome any information to help their legal investigation to determine how this person got this phone early.

FYI - per Sprint Corporate, in memo sent to their stores LAST WEEK, any one selling the Nexus S 4G early will be terminated.

So, how exactly did you get this phone early?

gtfo sprint narc. train your retail managers to abide by release dates. The OP did nothing wrong.

my sprint (deerfield il) opens at 9am. they told me their shipment wouldn't be in till later today, but they wouldn't sell it to me till sunday. i may go to glenview myself.

I just had a Sprint Rep call me that I spoke to a couple of days ago. She said they just got out of a meeting and were told that they can go ahead and start selling the Nexus S. This store is a Sprint store in Fort Worth.

i just confirmed with glenview il that they have the phone and will sell it today. i then called my deerfield location who earlier said they couldn't sell it and now said they received an email from corporate that they can sell today! i'm heading there after lunch (they should be in then) - they are holding one for me!

Guess the word isn't getting out to all stores. Called mine in the ATL area, and even after being told about the supposed "corporate email" and checking, said that they couldn't sell it until Sunday.

Sprint has done this with several phones. I remember when the HTC Hero was sold a couple days early and some HTC Evo owners had theirs early when ordered. These things happen all the time. It's not hard to believe.

I also would like to see videos and pictures. Not for proof because I believe you guys but because I like pictures and videos of phones. Seems better when they're in action.

The Sprint store in my area is a corporate store and they have disavowed any such "corporate email" ...meaning I'm stuck waiting until Sunday >.<

welp, no go. local sprint corporate stores had the phone in stock, would not sell til the 8th. local best buy stores had the phone in stock, would not sell til the 8th.

got halfway through actually buying the phone at best buy, then got stuck when the sales person called to activate the phone and was told it wasn't able to be activated or sold until the 8th.

a friend actually got 2 of them yesterday afternoon from a local sprint store. i was playing with it all last night and wow is it smooth and snappy. he was also showing off the 2.3.4 gtalk vid chat upgrade. pretty dope phone but not sure if its better than my evo or im just sick of the evo already and i want a change... :/
