Root Oh my Lord! 595 is FAST!

Oh hell to the no... is that a TL1000 I see in your avatar there Dragon? NICE!

Steven, is 595 the leak that rolls right over the first leak? If so, I may have to try it. I've not felt the need to upgrade from the first leak yet since it's running so smooth and basically flawless. But if I can do a simple flash right over my 573... well, I just might go ahead and do that!

From what i understand...

.573--->.595 will work...but you will not have the new baseband that was included in the .588 update...

.588--->.595 works fine, everything up to date

.591--->.595 ditto....

it shouldn't be a HUGE issue...as the OTA (.596) SHOULD include the new baseband because TECHNICALLY nobody should have gotten the .588 updated baseband anyway...

hope that made sense..

how about a general performance increase? i was about to flash this in a few minutes

The general performance from .591 to .595 to me feels like the same quantum leap that there was from .340 to .588. Really, the entire thing is snappier. It's so fast that it seems like an entirely new system from the .591. I don't know what they did, but it's amazing.

Ate you on the stock version?

No, I'm on deodexed and rooted for now. I'll flash stock when the OTA comes out, so I can d/l it.

im not exactly sure Steven even knows the meaning of the word stock anymore

:p

Silly boy. Everyone knows what stock is. It's the broth that comes from chicken or beef. :p

Edit: Quadrant scores are the same, but the thing flies. I don't get it. I'm getting about 1900.

The same??? My quadrant scores have always been in the 1400 - 1500 range. Is the 1900 an OC'd score? Or is that at the stock, 1000 ghz setting?

Edit : Ok I just ran a quadrant to see exactly where I'm at, and I ran a 1604. So that's a little bit above where I remember it running before. Still, not nearly as good as what you're getting. You say you've always gotten 1900ish scores out of your DX?

I have a sense that this isn't necessarily faster but it certainly is ALOT smoother and .588+ wasn't a slouch. Perhaps it's rendering better. I gotta admit Motorola has done right by it's customers with the Droid X, first time I've witnessed a company actually improve it's software and bring out the full potential of an older device. That's usually the burden the community has to take on.

Outlaw I was getting about 1400 on the .591. After I switched to the .595 my score jumped up to 1800+. that's without being O/C'ed. The performance gain is noticeable going from .591 to .595. It's smooth as silk. there's no big difference in the look and feel other than the performance increase which leads me to believe this is nothing more than the .591 with some bugs worked out.

1908 is not oc'd. What I was saying was that the score was not different from .591 but the feel was faster for some reason.

Ok Steven I want to flash this now. Will I lose root though? Im currently on Apex 2.0. Did you flash the full stock, odexed or deodexed?

Personally I want to go Full Deodexed.

Thanks in advance.

What I did was flash the fully deodexed/rooted version and will flash the stock so I can OTA when it comes out.
