Verizon silent...htc sense-less??

So, just for kicks I thought I'd contact htc and get them in on the whole wait for the update fun. While Verizon hangs out yet again in delay land and hangs on to any information as to why, I asked htc if they'd be interested in spreading some good will and either directly email me the software update or put it up on their site for downloading. (Look...it's my fantasy, so lay off!) :) While I was at it, I also wondered why htcsense.com had steadily added newly supported devices, including the new htc tablet, without placing the thunderbolt there. After all, I thought the thunderbolt was first in line because it was actually advertised to have this feature out of the gate. Here's the reply.............

Dear Rocky ,

I definately understand the concern regarding the recent HTC Thunderbolt update, and it's lack of HTCSense.com support, Rocky, and I'll do my best to clarify a few things for you.

Unfortunately, we don't have this software to provide on an individual basis. Where carriers decide whether or not the update software gets posted to our site, or our distributer's website (Personal Communications Devices | Our Devices - ADR6400LVW), if it's not there already, we most likely do not have the permission from Verizon to post it.

Where the HTC Thunderbolt was built for Verizon, based on specifications that they provided to us, they did not opt in for HTCSense.com on this device. Whether or not this feature is added in the future, I really can't say for sure. At no point did we advertise the HTC Thunderbolt as being compatible with HTCSense.com. If it was communicated to you that this phone was supported, I want to apologise for the misinformation.

Thank you for taking the time to contact us, Rocky.

So, help me out here androiders...did I imagine this whole t-bolt with htcsense.com capability thing? Not that it's a big deal, I was just wondering about it. The bigger deal is being able to do video recording and hear what's on there. Those other bug fixes that we're being teased about would be nice, too.

Simply put...VZW makes me sick! Now all of a sudden my GPS won't lock at all...I believe a GPS fix was in this update as well....bunch of slackers runnin the show over there.
Download GPS Status from the market. Install. Next open up the app, select menu, tools, manage A-gps state, reset. Then menu, tools, manage A-GPS state and download. GPS issues should be solved. My GPS locks in in less than a second.:D

I was thinking of rooting using the one click root method since the update hasn't arrived yet.

I know once the update hits your unrooted. But its very tempting just to see how the system runs on a diff. kernel.
Once you root, you will no longer care about updates.:D You will have the "update" long before Verizon gets around to giving it to you.
