again can someone post a link to a good external charger only i ordered my battery just waiting for it to be delivered!
I recently received my 3500mah battery from Hong Kong. It charges fine on the standard charger that was included with my Evo. Evo, after charging for 8 hours overnight, reported 100% battery power available.

Hey guys. I have a stupid question. After quickly glancing over the posts in this thread, I got the impression that if I buy a 3500mah battery, I need a different charger than the stock that comes with the Evo. Is that true only for this Chinese battery, or ANY extended battery? The one I bought is this one from Amazon: Amazon.com: Acase 3500 mAh Extended Life Battery + Cover for HTC EVO 4G (Black): Cell Phones & Accessories

Please let me know. Thanks in advance!

I use the stock EVO charger for my 3500mzh battery. It works great!!

Been using the Chinese battery fr about 10 day now... Charge with the original charger that came with my EVO (the best charger on the market, if you ask me). The full charge lasts about 12-13 hours depending on usage - much better than the stock. That's with 4 - 5 hours of MP3 playing (No BT, No GPS, no 4G). I just wish I could get another 3 hours out of it.

What seller did you buy from? Did you actually use an extended battery? It's double the life of stock.

can't remember since ebay removed that but it's not impressive at all.. how one person uses their phone might not be the same as another.. point is the battery is not what its rating is and usgage like maybe navigation for 1 hr will make the rest of my day hard by wondering if I'm going to have a phone to use for the rest of the day.

i also purchased the 2 3500 batteries with a wall charger and after almost 8 weeks of waiting i finally received it. I am happy with the battery life but I am experiencing something weird. When I use the 3500 battery my phone becomes unresponsive at times and i have to do a battery pull or turn off and reboot. If I switch back to the stock evo battery it works fine. Has anyone experienced this. I do not know if a battery can cause this but I cant see what is the cause. Thanks

Unless you are rooted, you CANNOT charge your extended battery with it in the phone and charge it fully. Those of you not getting DOUBLE the life of the stock battery need to use a battery-only charger to charge it to 100%. When you charge it in your phone, the battery meter may say it's at 100%, but it's absolutely not.

Will these dock/external charger work to fully charge the extended battery. I am only getting about 6 hours with my extended battery.

I bought this item. It didnt work or it was damaged. When I docked the phone with USB connected to the PC, it did not recognize the connection. The charging part worked but the data did not connect. I did not check to see if the battery would charge outside the phone in the dock since I would always charge the battery inside the phone.

Okay, I purchased a 3500mah from ebay, just to see if it would be too thick for my liking. It only cost $10 and since the 2000mah was pretty much a fail (in fact, the 1800 mah I purchased was 10 X's better), I figured I'd give it a shot for days I know I wont be able to get to a charger.

Results, since I took it off the charger at 730am. I listened to music on the way to work (30-40 minute drive) w/o it being plugged in. There are also certain areas where signal drops out.

Looked at a few emails, sent a couple texts. Battery is still at 82 percent. Not bad.

I really do like the functionality of this battery. Even though the size is more manageable than I thought it'd be, I can't see myself using this on the regular (only for days when I know I can't get to a charger). All-in-all, I think it's worth having for certain purposes.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts on the 3500mah battery from ebay.

Oh, and btw, for those of you that don't want to add a case, I actually managed to install a custom skin that I had made and even though some countours of the case didn't fit quite right, it still works perfect for my needs.

Hmmm...I realized that majority of the day, I was actually using the phone as I normally would. The only difference was that I didn't have the phone charging while docked in my car (while commuting to and from work - 35 min. each way).

So other than 1hr10min. of my commute, I used the phone as I normally do...maybe a little more browsing than normal.

Battery lasted until I went to sleep and it was at 30 percent. The overnight drain was exactly the same as all the other batteries I have (around 15-20 percent, depending on emails that come in while sleeping, which I probably should turn off LED notification to conserve more battery). Battery percentage was at 10 percent when I woke up.

Nontheless, I was kinda hoping it would last longer than it actually did. I'll have to reserve judgement for a day that I'm using the battery more like I normally do, in order to really judge if there's any difference from the stock battery or my 1800mah.

I bought a supposedly 3500mAh battery on eBay for $19.95 with free shipping for my HTC droid Incredible.
I use my phone constantly and now I'm getting 2 full days out of it. That's a huge increase over the original. I barely could get a day out of it and would have to plug it in before day was done.

It looks good, feels good, and if it doesn't last I can always spring for the Seidio later. Big savings though and time will tell.

The only downside is that there doesn't seem to be a case that would fit it as it's thicker. I searched all over the web and also hit the mall with all the phone accessory kiosks and shops. Nada.

From a dead battery to a full charge how long is it taking people using the stock phone charger?

it's painfully slow.. I ran my extended battery out and I got home at 9 AM it takes about 8 hours to fully charge (looking at system info)

That seems a bit long...

Also I plugged it in one night at 12 AM and when I woke up to leave for work at 4 AM i was like what's going on why is the phone only at 53 %..

turns out I happen to be looking at the phone when it was plugged up and was charging and all of a sudden it stopped charging and acting like it was unplugged and I had to disconnect it and plug it back in.

it takes about 8 hours on average while in the phone, may be quicker in an external charge ymmv... You need to realize that the phone thinks it's charging a 1500mah batt so although it says 100% it's really only 50-60%. Some say it won't fully charge while in the phone, but it seems to work with my dock, again ymmv... fwiw, I feel it takes a better charge in an external charger but I got real tired real fast of constantly having to take it out of the phone. 8 hours should about do it though.

I get longer battery life charging the battery (by itself) in my external charger (dock) than charging in the phone w/the phone off.
