I don't see a charge on my credit card for my order from 4/28. The tablet is supposed to be arriving today.

J&R sales are infamous for quoting dates on their terminals that have no reflection on reality. The Archos 101 was a device that showed their lack of effort to verify product delivery dates. They could at least say "We do not know", but they seem to lead people on, just so they can keep the sale active for TWO MONTHS!
I canceled my Archos 101 order and then decided to not buy it at all (based on the 256mb ram and 180mb app storage- it worked out not getting it).
J&R sucks real bad for preorders, but are fine for product already in stock.

Well seems that they have a different process for handling check cards then anywhere else (maybe its a NY state thing). They told me it was the same as cash and so put a hold on the cash. Only problem was they did so the day AFTER I put in the order, when it went to backordered status. You don't find this policy unless you go to the FAQ section on payments. Otherwise your order screen says they will charge when shipped. Though to their credit they called me today to have the funds released back into my account.

I got my tablet in yesterday. First time I've done a pre-order/back-order with J&R and everything went as I expected. They must have a reason for treating check cards and credit cards differently. I dunno. I'm happy with the way J&R handled my order
