The only reason I might regret getting it is because of the iPhone's far far superior apps and games, but I have hope for the App Market to get better. Other than that, I love the phone.

There's no reasoning here bro. How do you explain fan-boy-ism? You can't. You can't explain the "I just gotta have it," mentality that prevents people from making truly reasonable and logical decisions/choices.
Get a stock Android phone and keep up with the latest and greatest Android versions or get a phone with additional software layered on top and live with being a version behind for awhile !
The OS just needs a few more updates. ....people just need to give it some time. ...... pretty soon we're gonna be saying "theres an app for that !"
i love seeing posts by people like you (new to android with N1 as the first android phone).....aaah the zeal of a convert; i felt that way too at some point. not to be offensive but if you have only been using android for a week or two, you practically dont know android. you also dont know the market. the "OS just needs a few updates".....lol dont worry, pretty soon you will be dealing with OS updates, hacks, cooked up ROMs and a daily dose of app updates.......have fun with that...
"pretty soon we're gonna be saying "theres an app for that !"....don't worry; the "market" has an app for everything you can think of; it's just that the app is ....well.....pretty useless.....be prepared to spend quite some time rummaging through the huge garbage can that the android market is, maybe you'll get lucky and find something that's actually useful .
I prefer the Bravo but id rather have a N1 now than wait 3 months...
Isn't Bravo just Nexus One on Sense?
After using Hero, I think I am done using Android with Skins. The wait to get the latest firmware and custom firmware was unbearable. Moreover, with 2.0.1 in DROID and 2.1 in Nexus one, vanilla Android has improved a lot!
I would like to see what Apple can provide with their iPhone 4 this July
I prefer it for the buttons at the bottom. Like you, i prefer not to have sense.

This is indeed the biggest drawback of the Android platform currently.... I hope it improves, it's not so much the quantity that bothers me or lack thereof, it the lack of quality apps, or even equivalents to its iPhone counterparts...
apps like Gas Buddy, all the good snow report apps like the North Face one, the CNBC app, Bloomberg App, NPR app that actually lets you stream the stations, CBC app (hey, i'm a canuck afterall, even if an expat... ), a true NYT app - not the knockoff crappy "readers"... etc....
Ihad some trouble getting contacts from outlook to gmail - but aside from that i love this phone its a quantum leap on from my old HTC touch HD......

Jerk
good thread..im still trying to decide if im gonna order this phone next week or wait a little longer....
oh man......i love it when you say "greatest android versions".... is it not more like one version is less shabby than the previous one? your expression implies that android 1.6 was great, then came the greater version 2.0 and then came the greatest 2.1... i think the word "great" or any of its derivatives should not be used with android unless as an oxymoron.
Thanks for your detailed and informed contribution.I would go for it. As someone who has been developing for PDA's and now Phones for 25 years, I have some opinions on the phones...
x10 looks like great hardware... but it ships with Android 1.5. THAT is ******ed.
