Starting a week ago, everytime I go on ebay.com, the phone vibrates while loading the page, then after a while, vibrates a couple more times and returns to home screen. No error messages had come up. I had cleared cache and date on the browser, rebooted the phone several times, still have this problem. this is the only website that I can't access. please help!

I had the very same issue just as you explained......went to market and downloaded the Ebay app-it's free. Install app if it doesn't do it automatically and just access Ebay from your app. No more problems. BTW....I'm running 2.2. Hope this helps you to.

I have the same exact problem as op.
Suggesting to use ebay mobile is not a good solution for all.

Yes,i have ebay mobile and it works...but....ebay mobile is designed for most but not all purposes.it waters down the options you get on full classic site. So for example today I wanted to refine more than than mobile offers while searching items.
the only way to do that is with classic site.
I also wanted to check completed items for an idea of past pricing and mobile doesn't allow that.
I am guessing that those suggesting use mobile aren't hard core ebay users who needed much more detail than mobile offers as it is designed for simplicity while leaving tons out.

Have either of you look into using a different web browser from the market? I just loaded up both the mobile and full ebay page on the Opera browser. Part of what makes android great is that you don't have to rely on the preloaded apps, especially in cases like this where those apps are incapable of doing what you want.
no i havent and i will ..thanks for suggestion...never thought of that..i will try it if it becomes absolutely necessary.
but what the op and myself are saying...is that it suddenly started doing that..it didnt do it before..so to have to go to a completely different browser just because of ebay suddenly doing this for no reason..is a pain...it worked before then suddenly it doesnt.

True, but no one here seems to know what's causing it. I sure don't. But if it's something ebay added to get more functionality or something from the site, good luck trying to get them to take it back out.

Personally I've stopped using just about every stock app in favor of a 3rd party one that is everything the stock app is and more. Even more so since the 3rd party apps are easily updated to newer things, where as most of the stock apps don't change till we get an OS update.

EXACTLY! i thought I had done something to my phone to cause this to happen....so does it happen to everybody or just the 2 of us? Incidentally, when I get an email from ebay about someone sent me a message, I can follow that link and get to the classic site without problem, it's just that I can't get to the website if I just type www.ebay.com

Since so few ppl have chimed in saying anything at all it's hard to tell if they arn't or if most of the ppl here just don't use the browser to get to ebay, or even use ebay at all. As for me, I tried just now and can't even get the mobile page to fully load w/o causing the browser to crash, but the last time I tried to load the full page it also FC the stock browser.

As for the email link, when you try to go thru the browser, are you heading to the home page or a more direct link to where you can log in? Likewise is the email link taking you to the home page or to a different part of the site?

Actually the email link is to access my ebay messages...so it takes me to the log in page of the classic site. I can log in, and go into my messages and reply.
Every time I type www.ebay.com in my browser, it automatically takes me to the mobile site and then force close before the page fully loads..so not sure if the classic site works or not
