Hi,
I am experiencing similar WiFi issues with two Android phones.
- Nexus One. About 18 months old.
- Nexus S. 1 day old.
Both phones are running Android 2.3.4.
Issue:
No internet connection using WiFi (or in best bases very limited connection)
Phone is connected via WiFi according to Settings / Wireless & Networks / Wi-Fi... I can even check its IP address.
However, most of the time, the behaviour is as if there is no connection. This is independent of network used. I have tried using several different networks, so I think I can rule out network speed.
At the best of times it might be able to download one or two emails from Gmail (just the subject line in the inbox not the actual messages), or do a market place search.
Downloading from market place, reading emails, browsing or using any application that needs an internet connection is out of the question.
I have tried with three different operators and this doesnt change anything (and it shouldnt since it is wifi and not 3G).
Most of the time it will just give an internet connection error, or a gmail account verification error (yes I have double checked that username/password is correct).
This is really annoying, since the reason I got the Nexus S was because the Nexus 1 had a flaky wifi connection.
Have I missed something, or should I just trade them in for a Nokia 1208?
Thanks!
