Glad to see I'm not alone...honestly I would have kept my incredible2 had it not been for the earpiece speaker blowing out after only one week...that phone was way snappier and more polished than the dx2

Wow, it looks like DX2 is having serious trouble with lags, memory leak bogging it down quick. Is it due to you guys doing games, videos heavily? Hope it's fine for normal usage with phone, emails, browsing, SNS, etc. It's not acceptable for me having to reboot phone multiple times a day.

a little background....had the DX1, sold it and got the iPhone when it came out...had an upgrade on my account so I got the Fascinate, returned it and went back to the iPhone...got the Incredible2 when it came out, returned it and went back to the iPhone...got the DX2 yesterday, returned it and went back to the iPhone...
DX1 - sent sms messages to the wrong contacts (not acceptable)
Fascinate - not bad, just wasn't worth wasting an upgrade on
Incredible2 - loved it, until the ear-piece speaker blew and sounded like crap (quality?)
DX2 - choppy when scrolling, ghosting effect with icons when sliding screens, various other small things that added up to me just not liking it at all
bottom line is I like android and have had many many android phones (more than what is listed here)...but after having the iPhone and iOS, android still feels like it's in beta testing and not quite finished or ready for public use. I am not an apple "fanboy" by any means...you can see I've tried going back to android and honestly it feels like an inferior product to me now.
just thought I'd share my experience in case someone (like me) is throwing around the idea of switching.
The issue here is the fact the iOS is more polished and has less bugs and fragmentation issues
where as Android has more bugs (each phone has certain bugs, cannot deny that)
and it is certainly fragmented. its a shame but its the honest truth.
no one can deny the iphone is an amazing phone, and every top end android phone out is listed as an iPhone killer, but yet no such phone has done it yet.
each and every phone has its problems, in reference to the phone i have, the DX1 had restarting issues, and the text messages sent to wrong contacts, which is a big issue to alot of people including myself, but i stuck with it, and never experienced the sms bug, but did experience the restarting issue alot. but it no longer happens
the iphone cant say many bad things about it, i have heard it does have an sms bug that will periodically or randomly send the text to the wrong person, or select the wrong person, one of the two.
Android is far from perfect. mainly because of the bloat manufacturers include in it.
where as the iphone is made by apple(with samsung products) but it is made by one manufacturer only, each iphone does the same thing and has the same features, but not all of them are the same, because no 2 phones are made perfect
each android is similar in the os, but not similar in the hardware, or bloat that is loaded. the iphone is an amazing phone, but android is not far from being better than the iphone.
there are hardcore android users, and hardcore iphone users, but you must realize it is just a phone. both are amazing, and neither should be considered worse than the other. because i dont know about any of you but i do not know any other 2 phone OS' that run as smooth as these 2 do. so i say give them both credit, both os' are amazing and shouldnt be hated on.
Examples?
Widgets? Don't use em anyway...notifications system? Maybe, but not missing that either...google maps navigation? Sure, but as with most other things, there's an app for that.
wp7 may hold some flame of life, but im not so sure it will, i have seen all these wp7 commercials much like the sky diving one, ok flip through your apps to find your camera app, when wp7 pull it out select it and go, im like my X can do the same thing, i just hold down the button there it is, i take a picture, i hit home im done before your wp7, where it shows the other guy falling trying to find his app.. im thinking they dont really know how android users operate.
now if i was married to that woman in the black lingerie my perifirals(dont know how to spell it lol autocheck is not on my work pc) would def notice her, i mean come on. and i always wonder, when someone is on their wp7 phone and sending a text. can they look up while texting? or are their thumbs so fast, they are done in a matter of seconds??
android has the voice to text option, granted its not 100% accurate, but darn close. those commercials are targeted at android only. wp7 may be good, but any android user knows those commercials are far from the truth.
well whats to say google wont develop the chrome os?? if that happens, it may overtake the buggy windows. (if its not buggy itself)
anything can change, and yes i agree, wont happen today, it could happen in the future, cause we all know, nothing last forever, except highlander....
I think part of iOS smoothness is due to fact that it's smaller simpler OS than android doing smaller number of tasks, let alone supporting hardware acceleration. No widgets, no multitasking, no flash, etc in iOS.
But with dual core chips advancing fast, Ice Cream on the horizon supporting hardware acceleration, android will soon match iOS smoothness in UI. Even now SGSII oversea is getting great receptions and said to be finally darn close to iOS smoothness. I agree that iPhone is smooth, stable, easy to use and offers great out of box experience for most folks but just don't like Apple's attitude and philosophy.

If you don't want widgets, multitasking, or google integration then why didn't you get an iphone in the first place?
